Thanks HeavyDriver, I really appreciate the gouge...fingers crossed!

If you have applied before, you'll know they are quick!

I applied 2 windows ago when I was still waiting to compete my FAA ATP checkride and got the TNBT letter 3 days later. The fact that its taking longer this time, can never be bad news.

Thank you.

Not offended. Just wondering why so many people to do that.

I know every bright-eyed newbie out there is stoked to advance their career. I was one once. My advice to them is this: Chill. You can't make the phone ring. They're either going to call, or they're not.

I have more years behind me in this screwy business than I have left ahead of me. I have been applying for my "dream job" at every opportunity for at least the last seven years. I simply can't imagine how frazzled I would be if I was waiting on pins and needles for a call every time I submitted an application. Heck, in January of last year I did get a call for that job, and was told to expect a call for an interview "within a few weeks". I waited all year for that call. It never came. I have reapplied twice since then. And every time, like clockwork, somebody asks within a week of the application window closing if anyone has been called yet.

So just chill. You'll live longer and be happier.

Expecting everyone to act the same as you do... “So just chill. You'll live longer and be happier.” Two sides of the coin, I suppose...

Internet message boards are pretty much built for people to get bent out of shape. Or get bent out of shape about people getting bent out of shape. Etc etc.

Seriously... I would rather have a guy asking about callback times than about "what's the schedule like" for the 9000th time.

Ah, just wait until you read the 9000th iteration of, "Has anyone been called from the application window that ended three days ago?" You'll get there.

Hope to live long & am very happy. Took me 15 years working for 4 companies to get my 7th choice airline. (worked really well for me, so not longer applying at 1-6). The impatience levels I see with the new crowd are interesting.

Off, dude. Off. Otherwise, agree entirely. I'm happier than a pig in poop. Have yet to fly with a jerk (although I hear there's at least one...dodged the bullet so far, won't be bidding, well, nevermind). But I'm nearing Older Than Dirt status and I'm in no hurry to steal your seat. I'm enjoying "there's a problem? Look left."
