I see....you get upset when you cannot understand something.

Yet it's ok when you post all over other threads than Omni....also when you were on the "bottom rung" Omni was not owed/manipulated by ATSG..part of the whipsaw equation. Is it that difficult? Again...if it might bother you to read something you might not understand or like...don't! It's really that simple.

2 767's were just transferred from Atlas to ATSG by Amazon because of staffing / contractual issues. I believe both ABX and ATI are more expensive than Atlas. The whipsaw logic doesn't work in this scenario. Amazon wants reliability.

Whipsawing works when you have an excessive number of personnel in your labor group and a large pool to pull from for attrition. I doubt any ACMI has either. With the current contract Omni has been able to attract pilots. However, there are still pilots leaving for the majors and we are short on pilots who meet the FAR 121 requirements for upgrade. There were recently 2 awards where pilots with less than a year on property were given a shot at the left seat. There is some language in the CBA that exacerbates the selection process.

I would imagine most ACMIs are experiencing the same issues. In this climate, a negotiation involving a concessionary contract would be a non-starter. Any pilot at ABX with 1000 hours of Part 121 SIC, 6000 hours total time / 2000 hours PIC (not turbine) could apply at Omni and have a reasonable expectation of being awarded a Captains seat in a short period of time. Effectively a street captain.

The payscales in APC are accurate.

People care about ABX the way people cared about Florida West a few years ago. Which Ain't much. Ironically.....ABX management is alumni of Florida West and Southern. The past is the past.......

Hete, Soaper and Briner. The trifecta of excellence. The same way that the license plates in Lagos have “centre of excellence” written on them.

That's as much as people care about any of the ACMI carriers....especially the ATSG ones.

USTRANSCOM's task order for Omni long-haul international CRAF military flying for the October/next-September period was announced today. $77.6 million. Any word on how that compares to the just-ended fiscal year? It obviously doesn't include domestic and ad hoc military flying, but it's an important award for all of the CRAF contractors.
