Yes. You just have to get yourself to the first day of training but Omni gives you $100 toward a plane ticket or gas if you want to drive. After training, Omni takes care of getting you home and on the line via commercial travel. If there is a break in training, such as ground school to sims, you’ll obviously be bought a ticket home and then back for sim. Omni won’t leave you stranded anywhere.
Expect 3 weeks for ground school and two weeks for sim, unless they have gotten tighter on it. I know we now have the new (old KLM) classic sim up and running for ourselves so I would imagine our blocks for sessions are very composed and in our favor versus when we were using the delta sims until 3am. I’m glad to see that we are hiring and making movement, as well as providing a career expansion for many to come. Cheers and welcome aboard to the big O.

Omni does it much different than most 121 airlines. Normally recurrent is every 9 to 12 months at the carriers I’ve been at. Since we don’t fly a lot, the 6 month PT is added to keep us sharp.

Saxman hit it as well. Omni is not AQP so you are in the sim every 6 months between a PC and a PT. Both are excellent training courses for if you’re just trying to be up to date with the procedural changes or if you’re aiming towards upgrade. I think our instructors do an excellent job of pushing what we need and those who are looking to do well here in the long run. Like I said, nobody is out here to get anyone but should upgrade come and your time comes, you will be put in the seat and tested as you should. On the other hand, don’t worry about upgrade for a while…there’s quite a wait for that now on the 76 side.
