Exactly. Not for everyone but I thoroughly enjoy it. I love exploring the different cities we hang out in. When it's not covid lockdown adventuring around is fun. Also plenty of down time to read or study or whatever else you want to do. Not a place for time building but then who's out here building time when you get to this point? I love flying about 30 hours a month. A little more soft money in the vein of Atlas would be nice. But that's a whole other thread. ha.

Thank you all for the details. Omni has always been a target for myself, but the timing didn't pan out for me. At present I am at a place that we average 100+ hrs. of pay credit a month. And we earn every penny of it.

That's working too hard for me.

Jobs like Omni are safeties for lots of people. there are some folks like me for whom home basing has an enormous value. Most folks live close to a legacy domicile. It’s a no brainer for those people. If you are trying to justify Omni in the face of those going to legacies…..you’ll know if it’s for you or not if you’ve commuted from your location. If you live in a major domicile area…..don’t worry about it……just get hired there and be done with it. If you can. Commuting SUCKS!

How do the schedules and home basing work at Omni? Is it like Atlas’s gateway program or a true home base where you fly out on your first day of duty as opposed to the day before? How many days of availability and guaranteed days off per month?

True home basing. Fly out first day and home last. Or before if lucky

I’ve often not flown out until day 2 as well. Day one was the phone call with the DH flight the next day.

its 17 days, with one being an “override” day. They may use you that day, but most often do not. If used, the pay goes above guarantee regardless of you’re actual credit. It will be at the beginning of the end of your duty day blocks. So, most often it’s 16 days, and they can use the 17th if needed, but it costs them money to do it.

most lines are just blocks of duty days, long and short call. You’ll see one block of 17, or it broken into 2 chunks of 8/9 days most often. The trips show up anywhere from a week to a few days ahead. It’s very very rare to have something show up short notice. It’s the easiest reserve system I’ve seen. You know what days you’re available, and stuff just shows up a few days ahead is what’s normal.
there are a few lines with scheduled flying, those go a bit more senior and are around 75-78 hour lines.

And is it 12 or 13 bid periods a year?
