So, to clarify, what abuse does one have to suffer before they are allowed to voice any opinion?

How likely is it that we can get an additional week of vacation added? How about being paid for use of the APD?

I think either one of those (or both) should be a priority.

Usually you are beyond caring and only speak up when someone else broaches the subject.

Paid APD would immediately affect all Pilots. An additional week would also be good but would affect guys over 25 years or so, depending on what we could negotiate.

Two paid days prior to your primary vacation would also benefit everyone and is also something we should look at.

The APD is more likely, however we already have IVD that functions like that. The real issue is the pathetically low value of a vacation day. That needs to come up significantly before we entertain more weeks.

Scoop
When I say another week, I personally mean an additional week at all longevities...not just the top end.

Why? Either adds additional time off for pilots.

Depending on where pilots place that in the survey one or both is possible. It comes down to where we prioritize each item on our want list. Negotiations are done via written term sheets. Each time term sheets are exchanged the items are costed out by both sides. Costing is one of the more important parts of contract negotiations. Every item will have a cost attached to it. We are not going to get every item on our Christmas list. The negotiating committee and MEC will have to decide out of what they feel is the max achievable spend from the company and then allocate that money. It should be allocated according to the priorities in the contract surveys.

I'd like to see the ADP both paid, and carry-over. If not used when you retire, get paid for the unused days.

Back when APD used to be paid, how was it structured? Was it an hourly thing...daily thing? How was the payout limited?
