If delta quit the contract, then that should null and void the agreement and they shouldnt be able to just start up a flow without an agreement with PWA
Delta ceased operations before they closed their doors. They had the Eagle contract that was pulled during Covid.

There should have been an a follow up to LOA 9 circa the day compass seized operations reflecting the termination of LOA 9. That would have required proactive measures with a vision into the future. Instead, it lingered and now we are left to interpretation.

Doesn’t that go to National? Regardless, the Company has hundreds of millions...

Yes and over the years ALPA and all the mainlines allowed the goalposts to keep getting moved. It should have remained at 20 or 33 like it was 60 years ago. ALPA has allowed the commuter now regional to expand to be equal to or greater in size but unequal protection. If DAL wanted they could have just put all then Pinnacle pilots now Endeavor out on the street as NWA pilots keep their mainline job as they should. I believe DAL even gave an ultimatum take this contract or you will be on the street. Just think if DAL tried that with the NWA pilots. At least much of these arguments could have been avoided if all pilots would go through the same hiring processes as what ever the prominent carrier has the largest name displayed on the side of the aircraft. It seems one of the best things ALPA has done along with mainline management is pitting one pilot group against the other when it should only be between pilots and management.

It's just a good thing the FAA views a decade (or two) as being done "in short order."

That was hard to read but your history is a bit off. 35 years ago not 60 there were very few scope limits in contracts. That is how Delta in the early nineties could threaten to transfer all aircraft smaller than 757’s to the regionals and actually operate 4 engine DC9 sized jets at ASA. I keep reading in forums how we once had scope restricting virtually all flying to the mainline. That was not the case and actually the majors had no scope. Scope came about after deregulation and the subsequent cheaper is better airline mentality. The average number of seats from the bottom to the top of the industry has also soared.

Thanks for correction. I guess my main point is there seems to be an argument of regional pilots not having to go through the difficult hiring process as mainline or vetted. Just have a nearly exact or mirror image for hiring of the mainline to take away that argument.

It would also take away a large chunk of the regional pilots.

Are you saying what I think you are saying?
or is that strictly a comment related to the bachelor degree requirement?

It a comment regarding hiring at the regionals. If you applied mainline hiring standards to the regionals the pool of qualified applicants would shrink dramatically and they would be unable to staff their flying.
