Also good. I did this a lot too. Plus it helps to get consolidated.
My only caution is they can (and do) no-opp trips assigned by YS or reserve assignment. Then you’re back on LC and might be hard-pressed to be in position for a subsequent assignment. This happened to me a lot at peak COVID. It’s not as likely now; once they have you assigned to a trip they’ll likely not mess with it. Unless they do.

I guess you move often. Good luck however explaining to the CP why you could not make a 2 hour call out to EWR with a address on record 80 mi,es away in PA and then 3 days later could not make a 2 hour call out to JFK. Best to only use a cell phone if you are going to claim you were traveling ect.. Another good reason not to have a home phone. Keep in mind one of your fellow pilots is going to have to cover the trip that perhaps should have been yours.

True but when they call you at 6am they probably think you are at home. You and I both know the intent of the extra hour. If pilots want to push options like that to the limit the company might decide to change their extremely lenient policy on both reserve and regular reporting. Currently as I am sure you know the company completely ignores signing in by report time as long as you depart on time. They are also pretty easy going on the 12 hour long call. Do we really want a airline where both sides hold everyone accountable to a strict reading of report and reserve rules. I prefer the reasonable man system we currently use.

This is a wholly incorrect interpretation of the contract.
