Reserve for Dummies

REG bidder that decided to try out reserve one month here…. 11 vaca day and 2 CQ days… pre-bidding short calls. That’s just by normal res YS correct? And in NLT some time today? Even though the Oct shirt call times are not yet posted? Thx!
Edit - guess they had to be in by 0800 this morning as I just went to double check and PCS is locked until YS short calls awarded…. Just another little short call nugget that is in writing somewhere but completely unfindable for the un-initiated.

I've heard that sound before. The preposted rest is having a negative impact in formerly well staffed categories. It may push reserve junior again. Watching days go from Blue to Black on the 18th is a kick in the junk when it blows up your swap/drop plan.

Ok, probably a dumb question and I’m hoping for “my” answer. If I end a RES trip and check my schedule is a rest assignment next month now acknowledged? Just was assigned a 30 hour rest more than a month from now. Dam that’s prooooooooospective. VRU said nothing about it. I think it only looks at the current month.

That was my first thought. I’ll let it play out. A month plus is a long time and they’ll probably get me on some other schedule check or contactable status.

Which is exactly why it's BS that they're pre-assigning these rest periods so far out (and trashing the daily coverage in the process). Put it on your survey!!

I'm in the same boat. A rest period assigned in a future bid period that doesn't require acknowledgement when checking my schedule in the current bid period.
