The pre-release schedule check, the way it's worded in the PWA, does seem a bit ambiguous on this.

It's clearly intended to determine "what, if any, assignment has been placed on their schedule for the period following their release."

"Period following their release" sure seems to suggest something short-term (as in same day/next day/second day), but as we know, words can be twisted. Technically, is a next-month assignment considered "period following their release"?

Also, it allows for "an assignment of a rest period beginning as early as their release time." Well, again, something next month is not any earlier than release time.

So my answer would be that I don't think it's notification (and I don't think it should be), but I'm not 100% sure without official guidance.

Using the VRU is an approved way to do your post-release schedule check. If the VRU says nothing then you’ve done your job and nothing is notified

I agree with you 100%.

Checking your schedule via DBMS (iCrew) is also an approved way.

If you check schedule after setting the brake via iCrew and there is an acknowledgement popup for rest 45 days from now, can you ignore it and claim not notified during the pre-release schedule check? I suppose that's what I'm getting at.

Granted I've never seen this pre-posted rest myself, but in my experience, any VRU notification coincides with a popup in iCrew requiring a PIN entry. If this PIN entry isn't happening, then I'm firmly in the camp that this is absolutely NOT notification.

If you get a pop up then I can’t see how you can argue that you weren’t notified, regardless of how far in the future it’s for.

The reason I do the post rotation check on VRU is convience. I can check it as I'm walking to the curb. It has always said you have 1 (or 2 etc.) new assignment do you want to hear it. There was no new assignment. Done. Find me during a contactable period and notify me properly is my attitude. With all their shenanigans, I'm not lifting a finger to do their job.

Unrelated question:

I reached the $70k 401k maximum contributions in August. Since then, nothing shows up in my Fidelity account. I know money that is put into the spill account shows up on a different timeline....just curious when I'll be able to see the company contributions.

Thanks.

doesn’t it just come back to you as an 17% increase in your pay and not into Fidelity?

Presuming you did NOT opt out of the MBCBP, it shows up on the 15th of the month after the "spill" happens. So, if you just hit the limit (I also stops if you reach $350k of W2 earnings), look in Fidelity on 15 October, and you will see a separate account within the splash page that lists "Delta Air Lines Market Based Cash Balance Plan". The inputs always show up a month after the deposit actually occurs.

Thanks. Appreciate that. Looking forward to October 15th and seeing some real contributions to the MBCP.
