if I’m not mistaken the min TLV is 73, 73NB is above that. As a 73NB I have gotten a few calls for GSs over the past few months (but outside of systemwide meltdowns not a ton of calls) maybe they just want better coverage? But yeah I was kinda surprised too to see 84 ALV with an extra XX day.

I think we’re all implying it, but to be clear…ALV is the same across all bases for a given equipment and seat. While trying to preserve the rolling TLV within limits, weird or surprising things can happen when manning is out of balance across different bases. Extra day calculus for reserve is obviously base-dependent.

I think the question “why did they want so much 73NB reserve coverage” has been thoroughly answered, (take a look at trip coverage in ATL)

Maybe 73N is the new flex fleet and they want all those reserves for all the flying the regionals aren’t going to be able to cover for lack of crews?

Default Carryover Rotation Question

i am transitioning from a regular line this month to a reserve line in April and I have a 4-day rotation starting tomorrow that spills over. It looks like I should be released for training as it currently has OE scheduled on it. Anyone know if the spillover days in April will be considered days off or Long Call? I’d like to GS over those days but not sure how it would work. 1st world problem for sure …
Thanks.

If you are bought off a trip for OE, you get fully pay for the entirety, with no recovery obligation. In addition, for PBS build purposes, those spillover days in a Res month go toward (reduce) your Res days. you are free to GS any/all of the footprint for triple pay.

I think the days that spill into the Reserve month would be max double pay. Single pay for the days bought off. Single pay for the GS since it’s a reserve month.

I think you’re right. Good catch. Which makes me also wonder about PB days since the GS wouldn’t technology be interrupting X-days…?

Thats what I was wondering as well, I’ll make a post when. I find out how it’s handled. Secondary question has come up now though … Report time for the trip is late this evening 1900L and I did not get released from the rotation by CS last night as I had hoped (“no paperwork in the file for my trip”) even though the trip has had training indicated for 5-6 days now. I messaged the LCA but no response. If I get released at the gate, what would be the earliest report for a GS/WS assuming I’m fortunate enough to pick up something out of Open Time? Would I need 10 hours of rest?

That’s exactly what I was wondering… If I will get payback days? Another question that has come up is if I’m released at the gate what is the earliest time that I could report for a GS/WS trip? Unfortunately, crew scheduling did not release me last night.
