Also SRH page 81: "A pilot is allowed to drop or swap a carry-out rotation prior to the close of line bidding for the subsequent bid period if the number of reserves available in the current bid period is sufficient. It will be assumed that the number of reserves available in the subsequent bid period will be sufficient."
And for anyone who isn't aware, this won't work if the trip days in the future bid period touch an APD holiday. Generally this is only an issue in July due to July 4th and April in years where Easter falls very early in the month like this year. In that case any trip drops won't process until the future bid period schedule is published and reserve levels known.

Good point. That is addressed in PWA 23 I. 9. note two, but I forget every year. I was just recently losing my mind trying to figure out why I couldn't drop a trip that carried out into April. Because Good Friday apparently needs to be an APD holiday...

So pre posted rest now prevents x days swaps? I keep getting violates off day grouping requirements. Almost no ability to swap days now.

Need more details. At least the X-XX-X, and your schedule (black out trips if you’re worried about stalkers).

Violated off day grouping means you’re messing up the X- or the -X…or you’re trying to pull from the middle of the block…

I searched around and couldn't find it.

If I drop a RSV LC day with an APD does the 10am carve out for the following day of LC apply?

Another question for the brain trust. The company is now using (100% or as near as doesn't matter) CNO calls to assign short call. This is not a valid form of contact outside of Non-fly and Rotation release requirements, is it? Section 23 and SRH seems to say it has to be a scheduler (unless you acknowledge it of course).

The only times the standard non-fly day 10 hour carve out do not apply is coming off a vacation day or training day.

CNO is valid for converting a future LC pilot to SC as long as the CNO is received when the pilot is actively on a contactable status (LC or SC). A CNO recieved on a X day, VAC day, training day, or rest period can be completely ignored.

CNO is a valid way to notify a pilot of conversion to SC. Check out Scheduling Alert 24-03 on the EFB. All that has to happen is for CNO (or a live CSer) to leave a VM and it counts as first attempted contact for conversion to SC.

edit, reserveguru, I mean tennisguru, beat me to it and of course answered the question better than me also.

Thanks for the answer on APDs.

”Non Fly Day: defined PWA 23.A.30 “…a day or 24-hour period”…this means 30hrs of rest as well as PB/PR days.

Rotation: PWA 23.S.2.a.5 note 1

Short Call: PWA 23.S.2.c.3 note 1

Thanks for the PWA refs. Makes sense.
