So they wouldn't be assignments, and not in inverse order. So they're not IAs.
You need to create a new step, and figure out how to manage it in the multiple locations in both coverage ladders. And the company is still going to want the ability to go tell someone to fly as a last resort. And you're going to need to figure out how to placate the people who already benefit from the current system because as soon as you figure out how you're going to change it, they'll be on speed dial to their reps telling them what a bad person you are for even suggesting this. Well, not really, but you will be causing a rukus.

It's worse than that. 15% of reserves, but it can go all the way down to just one reserve pilot being protected from coverage. Even more crazy, in some instances, it's not even the most senior person that is protected.
PWA 12.M.5 is the reference.

Answering machines and voicemail allowed for screening calls. That's why they started IAs from the CP on the last leg of a trip. There was no escape unless you were on the M88 and did the superman in the aft lav and went out the stairs. I think we should just eliminate them and make everything a GS proffer and make crew scheduling plan ahead. they get 2 days out coverage now and last minute can be fedex style once through the list 200%, twice through the liset 300% etc.

Cargo was exempted from FAR 117, so might be hard to match their rules. But I'm onboard with your idea.

I remember right after merger, that scumbag Lee Moak gave the company contract relief for higher ALV’s in short-staffed category thus limiting premium pay. Piece of **** that guy was.

It stopped way before that. I would guess when cellphones became more prevalent and it was easier to get ahold of pilots that wanted to work for premium pay.

Equipment change “IROP” language needs to be changed in the next contract.
The company makes a business decision to change equipment on a flight weeks away and the pilot is on the hook to do whatever the company wants with them within 6 hours on the front end and [basically] 24 hours on the backend (international)?
