MOU 25-05

It's probably worth a call. I've flown with multiple ex-skywesters that have admitted they were doing it until they were told that it's not kosher here. One ever said he knows of some friends who were still doing even after being told. Not saying it's all malicious, but it's not a stretch to assume they'd make up a larger share of the offending group considering it was OK over there.

Am I gonna get facts or gossip? Are they really gonna talk to some guy they don't know (me) off the record or something?

The majority of deal making cases I have personally observed are by ex-military pilots who truly didn’t know what they were doing. The IA situation mentioned above is one such case.

Honestly don't know what they'll say in this case because I haven't cared enough to call them on this. It's clearly not a small issue since they've now sent emails about deal making. I highly doubt they'd send that out based on gossip. But they tend to share fairly in depth information when asked on the phone/in person. You're not just some guy, you're one of their constituents. I've found them to be pretty open to discussing things when asked directly. I generally refrain from posting stuff from direct conversations, unless explicitly told it's ok or public knowledge.

To further the point, we had no PCS cycles and no contract. You could set up a text notification for trips that met your parameters, and when such a thing came up, you could call or text then and ask for the trip. That was 10% of the time. The other 90%, they were blowing up our phones just like this place (except they actually answered when you called back).

But it wasn't even "deal making". They called me for a trip offering premium pay and I just answered yes or no thanks. If guys were negotiating higher % premium for trips on the phone with CS then I had no clue.

Honest question, how have you personally observed this, and how many have you observed?

If one is claiming they were wrongfully passed up and get paid for a trip they didn’t do, they should be locked out over that footprint (or longer if more wouldn’t be legal) and someone else should get the money for nothing. It’s asinine that someone would get protected 7 trips in a day when they only could have flown one. That needs to be fixed asap.
Some of these grifts need to be sold back to the company for full value. This one needs a LOA right now in exchange for nothing.

Thats nuts and shouldn’t be allowed. The fake grievance of being passed over (for likely something that wouldn’t have been picked up anyway) should only happen once per footprint.

Believe it or not, there are some pilots that claim doing as you propose is “screwing your fellow pilots”. What is lost on these people if that the company’s gross 23M7 use has exposed a small corner of our contract where no leveling , or really common sense mechanism exist to prevent a grossly out of balance pay scheme.
