Perhaps!

My naive opinion is that he knows he’s got an opportunity to salvage some of his reputation and legacy, and he certainly does.

What he does with that opportunity will be interesting to see. Hoping for the best. Expecting the usual.

Definitely. Hard to believe that EB instituted a 20% cost cut on FltOps when we were already behind, was surprised when the wheels fell off, and accepted RG's "pilots bad" excuse.

On a different note, what is with the C16 vice chair's picture on the DALPA site? I get wanting privacy, but don't you sort of give that up when you volunteer to be a rep?

After reading RG’s letter, first thing that came to my mind is this quote from Super Troopers:

“Desperation is a stinky cologne”

Two very similar posts on chit chat in recent days that seem to corroborate the direction this is going:

NYC CA:
“Take it or leave it. Has anyone else heard anything?

Short term 2.5 year contract extension.

Pay raises (upwards of 20% over the extension)
July 1, 2026
Jan 1, 2027
Jan 1, 2028

DC contribution increase
United DH rules
Vacation pay increase
Training pay increase

Some unidentified other increased benefits.

Ed is absolutely not happy and is willing to make this deal to streamline the coverage process to get reliability back in the operation. He wants it done ASAP.”

SLC CA:
word on the street is 20%. 2.5 year deal 8/6/6.some add to DC, UA DH rules and a few minor things. Essentially give up 23M7, dunno status of PBdays, maybe a PS commute clause. Seems light to me seeing pilots are holding all the cards”

Yeah the skyhop driver told me just last night that our tips will be included in this new contract as well.

If OOBWS sticks around, then I'm most likely voting "No."

IMO, either the last rites are being spoken on OOBWS or it's going below GS on coverage ladder

While we all have thoughts, I have to remind myself not to negotiate in public... There is a reason this kind of thing leaks out. It's a trial balloon.

The "UA DH rules" is what makes me doubt this 'rumor', however. I'll be shocked if Ed goes for that, and even more shocked if the FA's wouldn't riot over it.

Again, this is a trial balloon.

Maybe (and I'd be all for it, personally. But I understand why some are not...). Or, maybe there is just no Auto-Accept for OOBWS - maybe it just goes to one window like QS. One call to rule them all...
