While true you have to look at the root cause. More pilots adopted AA because they were getting incessant calls for things they would never be awarded... due to excessive amounts of uncovered open time because of a staffing shortage.

IF, and that's a big "if" he gets a deal prior to summer he will need quick action to approve the TA. This is battle field prep to rush the vote. The vetting process by 17K+ pilots has proven itself and he can't afford that kind of scrutiny. Last contract was the first one I recall were issues were addressed post TA. APC was key in the discovery of ERRATA and the acknowledgement of it by both the company and DALPA.

Reportedly, Ed was a hard NO on FC DH last time around. We can never know what’s really true, but Ed values his precious revenue premium too much to let us DH in FC all the time.

To be clear, I totally agree with you on industry standard, but Ed’s opinion is the only one that matters.

I don't think they are going to give that up without a long fight.
One of United’s biggest perks is they get 150% pay for any leg occupying a middle seat on a deadhead.

That seems like an easy ask and should have been done long ago.

I think the minimum voting window for a contract is 30 days. So Gumm and Bastian better get down to brass tacks PDQ or it will all be too late to save their summer. And the next.

Short term 2.5 year contract extension.

July 1, 2026
Jan 1, 2027
Jan 1, 2028

DC contribution increase
United DH rules
Vacation pay increase
Training pay increase

Some unidentified other increased benefits.

Ed is absolutely not happy and is willing to make this deal to streamline the coverage process to get reliability back in the operation. He wants it done ASAP.”

SLC CA:
word on the street is 20%. 2.5 year deal 8/6/6.some add to DC, UA DH rules and a few minor things. Essentially give up 23M7, dunno status of PBdays, maybe a PS commute clause. Seems light to me seeing pilots are holding all the cards”
Easy no vote here. I doubt this is very accurate though.

Same. Will be an auto no from me for anything less than double digits first year.

not weighing in on if this is enough, but the hypothetical raises in your quote is 14.48% on the amendable date of our current agreement and more than 21% over the next 20 months (assuming 8/6/6 on dates they listed )

again not weighing in on what number is enough for me, but its worth doing the math on what any proposed raises compound to to be. I expect the company is going to try and keep any raises to single digit % at a time for non-con optics. We would probably have better luck getting an 8% raise now and another 8% 6 months later (16.6% total) than getting a 1 time 15% raise.
