So you excuse some moderators behavior by blaming stagnation on the DL list? They are supposed to be the refs here, not the players. When they jump into bicker, insult people who have opposing views, it helps set the tone at the very least

Hey Mods - would I be correct in my assumption that on this thread you're more participant than moderator, and non-participant moderators are the ones that keep our fragile house of cards in order? Or are you really exercising obvious authority to control the direction of the conversation to suit your needs?

There are some much more activitist Mods. Writing about them brings out their wrath. They swoop in like a Hutu close air support mission and the resulting mess about shut this thread down. ACL and 80 are probably the two guys that moderated the moderators & saved this location as an intellectual marketplace (although I think nearly 14 million clicks provides sufficient economic incentive to foster the L&G thread).

I've not seen our Mods be any more insulting than Alpha, Sailing and occasionally Slow when he's tired of my crud. I just give it right back to them. At the end of the day, we're all friends. You don't have to come here. If it isn't fun for you ... .

Excuse me, but moderators should not be insulting anyone on these forums, period. I thought they were suppose to keep this place civil, I don't see how slinging insults helps.
