No kidding... we are critically short in many categories and getting shorter.

There are very few MIL leave pilots to come back, and FUR bypass guys will be offered positions as hiring begins. There's only 203 of them left.

This bid was very telling on how they are trying to stretch this to the breaking point.

Hopefully they don't go to ALPA with a "staffing improvement" opportunity.

Seniority ***?!

Hey guys. Awarded ATL 717b by March AE. I AE'd, or bid it on purpose. Two guys junior to me that are being mandatory displaced out of the same category I'm in, DTW 320B, are being sent to class well before me? Like two months before me.....so is this correct? I thought we went to class in senority order. They were both MD'd. I was an AE.

Someone explain why I have to rot in detroit and get abused this summer while junior guys get to get the heck out. Total weaksauce.

I'm guessing there was some uproar over the very junior 744 SLIs that triggered that?

So did this can the Junior Capt SLI program?

I just read that.

"The company failed to keep to the contractual amount of NRT flying, so we let them count HND as well so they would be back in compliance without actually changing any of their plan."

.... improvement, how?

That is some serious spin!

E-mail is a little too darn happy, but the only reason that 316 is a limit is the fifth freedom code sharing that is going on. ALPA could force them to dump it or get some protections in on Asia flying for it. That is how I read it.

Seems like there is a few month reprieve of the violation to negotiate this. If there is no agreement looks like Oct they will be out of compliance again and a grievance could be filed. Also, they can go below it at the concurrence of the MEC. That is what is written in the contract.

I will give DALPA credit that we are not learning about this after a TA was reached and ratified. They told the pilot group about this prior to that point, which is different.

I thought that too - how is it an Improvement if we're giving them relief.

"Scope Improvement Opportunity".

oh, maybe the opportunity is for THE COMPANY to improve their scope, not ALPA.

My guess is that because it was called "Asia-Pacific Scope Improvement Opportunity" we're going to roll all the Asia flying into the NRT numbers, and raise it just a bit.

"See, the company has to fly MORE Asia flying, and they can't reduce it! Really, they can't!"

I'd call crew resources and ask them. Doesn't makes sense to me.

Trans-Pacific Scope Co-Prosperity Improvement Program

Lets see, for violating our PWA, we are granting them a temporary exemption, in exchange for temporarily loosening the language so we are in compliance and negotiating to keep the flying the company wants to keep anyways. Once the temporary exemption is up we will have negotiated a permanent lowering of the compliance criteria so there will be no violation

Seriously the MEC was handed a Shiite sandwich with no really good solution, but why not call it what it is, and that we are trying to salvage as much as we can.

Scope improvement? YGTBSM

Non-Rev Question - Baggage

The frau is non-reving to Ireland. She wants to bring a carry on and check a bag. (I've tried to convince her otherwise)

Here's the question. If she does check it does it go to the final destination no matter if she's on the plane or not.

Example CHS - ATL - DUB doesn't make this connection so she does CHS - JFK - DUB did her bag make it there or not?

A little help would be appreciated.

PM if you can.
