no, you are right. You'll get PB Days then the last day is PR which is a partial payback day and ends 10 hrs after you were released. If it was the end of the month and those PB days were going in the bank rather than on your schedule then the PR day would be a full PB day.

hmm, now that's good gouge. Thanks!

Just so everyone is on the same page, for a domestic green slip on reserve, payback days start 9 hours after release. For an international green slip that has an ocean crossing on the last day, payback days start 13 hours after release. Section 23.S.11.

Probably simple questions but I cannot find answers in the PWA. Can payback days be used to drop a trip on a regular line and get paid for it? Then can you WS/GS over those days? I pretty sure the answer is yes to both but I cannot find it in the contract.

Denny

Yes to both........

They changed it to 10 hours after release for domestic due to FAR 117, though I don't know where that is written.

Anyone know?

Another PB trivia item I learned a few months ago is you will get an extra PB day if you release after 1400 local, as they add on 10 hours of rest before your PB days can begin. This will net you an extra day in the PB bank. Just something to keep in mind when sharpshooting GS's this summer. All other things being equal, a trip that ends after 1400 is more valuable than one that gets done early (assuming you only have X days remaining in the month).

Sort of. Whatever X-days are violated by the GS/IA trip are moved so as to begin nine or 13 hours after release from the GS/IA trip, depending upon whether its last duty period contains an ocean crossing. A majority of the time, this results in the moved X-days no longer beginning and ending at midnight, and is reflected on the pilot's schedule as PB for a full calendar day off and PR for the end of the last moved X-day that ends at other than midnight.

If there are not sufficient days in the bid period to contain all of the X-days that must be moved, the excess days "fall off" into the Payback Day bank.

do we put the gear up if we go Atlanta -Augusta?

reminds me of flying IAH to HOU in the E120. If you took off south and landed south... i think I once calculated as a E120 new hire I made like $2 for the flight.

Doh! That makes sense! Didn't think about that.
