Your deterrent might be my lure. He's senior to me in my category. I think he might be happier visiting his alma mater on the weekends when they play home football games AND get paid for it.

Keep going FTB! :D

Agreed. As does blaming ALPA for everything under the sun that's gone wrong in our industry over the years. :(

Buying a couple days to tack onto an existing week with your bank to push you into the next vacation pro-ration step is helpful (Like T apparently did recently).

I like the idea by Imapilot to have the ADG get up to 5:15.
(heck, I'd like to see it eventually go to 6:00 like FDX... but let's get take baby steps)

FDX is 6 a day for everything.... Vacation, training, you name it.

Indeed so, and I wrote my reps about it immediately. The Company cannot unilaterally liquidate vacations that conflict with a pilot's qualification training. Should he desire to keep his vacation and delay his training, and only if there is no other pilot who can take his original training slot, he may rebid the vacation for later in the vacation year or he may choose to have that vacation liquidated. This was the key to the last contract I tried to show everyone. Now it's too late. Now this will create a staffing problem for which they are already behind on. Now we can't get higher rates either because it looks bad. So where to now.

Expectation management.

don't worry, shiznet. baby steps shouldn't be a problem.

That too. But it's tempting to throw stones when they put themselves out to be nearly perfect, which got me leaning negative in the first place. That said, I believe I've tempered my negativity over the past year+. I'm trying. I'm trying real hard.

Not quite 100% accurate. It is 6:00/day vacation and most duty periods, however they do not get it for training and some duty periods do not qualify for the 6:00; I don't understand all their rigs and rules, but I know that much.

Still, I'd like to see 5:15 for us and an eventual increase up to 6:00 (for everything)

I see more levity in your postings recently too.
