Which type of trust did you end up going with? If you don't mind me asking.

Scambo

Mine was a full Living Trust via a quick claim deed. Included the establishment of the Trust with associated Powers of Attorney, Deeds and living/death wills. Hope that answers your question.

However unlikely that is, he still said it was how scheduling has been handling it. Maybe T or another LCA can chime in with more clarification??

Unfortunately the Line Check Airman is providing wrong and inaccurate information.

Once the student is released by the Flight Training folks (sim guys/gals), then he/she is the responsibility of Flight Standards folks (O.E guys/gals). The previously assigned F/O to the exact rotation will be released with NO RECOVERY OBLIGATION. He/She can utilize the open board to further enhance their paycheck.:D

When training cycles are up, there are several F/O's that will purposely bid my scheduling knowing they will be displaced. The down side is if there isn't a student... then they have to fly with me:eek:!!

The term "operational integrity" is pretty much a Bull $hit statement. If the person isn't capable of safely flying the line on day one of their O.E. then there is a serious problem with the standard in the simulator. As a former simulator guy; when I released a student to O.E. he was a "product" of me and I took it personal when they weren't ready.

Stay safe,

OC

One of you guys mind giving us a layman version of the various terms you're using and when/why I might need to look into this.

I assume it has something to do with avoiding massive death taxes? Why would a will not be sufficient, and what does a trust do for me that a will doesn't? Anything pilot specific that we should know that doesn't apply to Joe Everyman?

I was more interested in revocable vs irrevocable and thought processes why.

It varies state to state on what valuation of your net worth you can avoid probate /taxes with using a trust. If you have generational wealth, you put it in a trust and name your heir(s) as the presidents of the trust. If you have it set up two years prior to your death (or some other timeframe) it passes seamlessly to them.

One of our lawyers, check, Gloopy, NewK, Alan will certainly have finer points or corrections.

You're correct. The only place worse than ATL is NYC. It's never nice here, not even in the spring.

If you acknowledge a trip less than 12 but greater than 10 aren't you still ok? Was just informed I was given a CPR for not acknowledging before 12 hrs.

How do you move a payback day? Is that via a leave request? Thanks.

Yes, just treat it like an X day move via PCS then Leave Requests then move X days.
