Long time lurker, brand new Delta Pilot. I read this thread almost daily for bits of information and all I read is C2012 this, ALPA that, and DPA over there.

I am not the only new guy lurking either...and we are all looking for guidance. Or at least some great rumors to impress our Captains with so we get a positive review!

Welcome aboard. It's great to have you at Delta. :)

They've got good soup. :)

They have crawdad and pepperjack soup on sundays. That stuff is legit.

Kids eat free on weekends too. That helps with an 18 month old boy that loves cars, airplanes (he picks out and squeals excitedly at every plane on the DIRTY arrival while we're outside), stuffed animals, a pomeranian that hates him, and fruits-- but other stuff? We'll see.

I finally talked my wife into going there (She didn't like the name because newk's sounds like its been microwaved..... sigh....), and it's a hit. So that's going to happen more often.

APC meet up heads up: Throw up the dual underboob feel sign at the E concourse Qdoba around 1745E today to join Timbo and I. I'll be on my way to the 9th leg of the day after clearing customs as is standard fifi operational requirement.

The little guy is a year and a half? Where did the time go?

You are going to have to tell Mrs. Buzz about your STD. Otherwise, you will keep swapping it back and forth.

We won't be hearing from Buzz for a while. That is, if he survives.

Yeah, I saw that. I understand Ferd's sentiment but don't totally agree with his conclusion. It's too bad (and really kinda hard to believe) that we even need to have these conversations about trying to get our representation to uphold the value of our profession. But it is what it is. I'm not going to let you or anyone else intimidate me from saying what I think.

I love having the new hires here (both here on APC and for real at Delta). They're great! I'm flying with one today. I think they are all more than capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time and can get their questions answered here during our discussion of "Any Latest & Greatest about Delta."

Good point. New hires need to have the information necessary to map out their careers. They need more than company/Dapla talking points. They'll get "the rest of the story" here.

Like 88Driver, Carl, Jerry, index and others, I won't be shouted down or intimidated by the usual suspects here whose agendas are at odds with line pilots' best interests.

We must demand accountability, transparency, and performance for our dues money.

Also a contract question. Just had to go on STD for a medical. Should be back soon. What's the deal with currency? I couldn't find it in the PWA. How long before I have to go through training? I just turned into a pumpkin on takeoffs and landings.

I thought we told you not to bid Mexico trips! ;-)

People covered the sim stuff, but if you've been off a while you'll need to complete the CQ disks that you've missed. When I came back from Disability they mailed the one I need to be. But if you've only been off for 90 days or so you might not need to.
