Nothing like it does from the north side. I drive in on 85 from Alabama and the only slow down is right around Newnan and then when 85 meets 285. Going south is the same story. Slowdown is relative too. from 80 to 50.

http://kosmix.co/static/ebd80d33e36b...f7ad624840.jpg I've had 3 2-hour+ drives to go from Cumming :D to the airport (46 miles) in the last 6 months, weather was never a factor on those. Just time of day. Then tack on 30 more minutes for a rarity around the employee parking lot... an A bus. |
Traffic is the biggest reason why I live in Newnan. In case of a big back up on 85, you can take US 29 and Fulton County Parkway into the airport. There is no way I'd live in North Atlanta.

Word is we had 3 diverts that were a part of the decision to accelerate the retirement of the 747. Curious if there are details and why they were such high profile.

In the olden days you could make it from Roswell to the lot in 35 min. where you picked up by a Porsche Panamera ...... ...I'm lying about the second part, it was actually a haywagon with a Fordson pull.
Speaking of that, saw an employee bus pulled off on the sida side of the airport at that South gate with cops and k9 units. |

I don't know. That is why I was asking. Did hear they got attention at the highest levels of management and were part of the quick decision to park the airframes once it was determined the block hours could be covered with the existing fleet plus the 330's coming.

I guess cutbacks forced them to go to the current slower method.
