If you didn't read the rotation construction committee email, go retrieve it from your trash bin. It is pretty dang funny. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. The guys who wanted CDOs did the required legwork. They filed a resolution and then they got organized and went to their LEC meeting and got it passed.
In this age of sophisticated communication capabilites, there is absolutely no reason for this to occur in a group of over 12000... other than to insure top-down leadership. This goes hand-in-hand with current reps not wanting a 7 day comment period for all LOA's/MOU's. I'm no longer sure why we even vote on contracts, since it's going to change many times during its life... without any say by the membership whatsoever. Back to my coloring... :) |

At the bottom of the Tech Ops page on DeltaNet there is a memo regarding the up coming Asia changes. Would someone read that and explain the wide body comments. Thx

In fact, as you pointed out, every pilot effectively has the "option" of selling back 100% of his vacation---the net effect on manning is MUCH, MUCH worse than when pilots could sell only 50% back.
Today, the company must staff for 100% of all vacations. The only negative effect on staffing we see when a pilot WSs more due to his vacation is fewer reserve and/or GS usage. The negative effect on staffing of this is MUCH less than vacation sell-back. |

Why just major airline operations?
How is it less safe for us to fly CDO's when they're accepted across our ramp? CDO's exist because we permit Delta to outsource our flying and those pilots have agreed to do them. If we fix our scope hypocrisy, killing CDO's would not even be a question. |
So I am sitting at the gate reading the contract survey document from the union, look up to see a MD90 taxi by on the ramp with two fire trucks following it, look back down and continue laughing at the survey.
Life is entertaining. |

Does it take fewer guys to service a 777 or 330 than a Whale in Manila? Kind of implies we're cutting service there doesn't it......
Crazy talk:D There will no longer be two 744s overnight there. Just one of whatever does the NRT-MNL flight. |
I'm trying to get a buddy pass rider on a Frankfurt flight and while looking at loads to Europe, I noticed DAL has one 330 a day on JFK to CDG and AF has one 330....plus three 777s and one 380. Total of 5 very big jets. Delta codeshares on all of these. Talk about lack of good scope on our international JVs!
maybe our experts on our JVs can answer this... do all of Delta iron going to Europe count when figuring our JV percentage? And more importantly, does all of Air France flying to the US, North America and all the Americas count? i know they fly to about 15 destinations in the US but they also fly to a handful of cities in Canada, Mexico and the rest of Latin America. Please tell me that if ALL our Europe flying counts, ALL their America flying does too. AC |
