So in my opinion, no, you aren’t getting it right.
Some people go out an earn what they want through hard work, networking, perseverence and interview prep.

Others rationalize and whine.

Does 9E have a commuter clause?

A slightly better non-rev priority isn’t the answer to this “problem,” since getting to work should probably be higher priority than any leisure travel. DALPA and the 9E reps should fight to make this right for everyone, both 9E crews and the DL retirees that have earned a benefit after decades of service to the company.

BTW, anyone know why this is suddenly popping up? And how long will it be before 9E gets a slice of the profit sharing (since we “all work for the same company”)?

Commuter clause is the same as mainline now. 9E won’t get profit sharing ever due to the way it is owned by Delta.

Getting to work is less of an issue with commuter clauses, but it would be nice to be able to get back home in a semi timely fashion without retirees' adult kids (who have never worked a day in the airline industry) bump you to go on spring break.

You are always welcome to reinstate our flow through or simply staple us and bring everyone (and the planes) onboard to the bottom of the Delta list.

How does listing for the higher commute priority work? Is there any way for the the system to prevent abuse of the new privilege?

The new priority isn’t in the system, so we’re just as curious too

I don’t see it as a recruiting tool at all. If they wanted a true recruiting tool they’d do priority and check in the way American does it. However, in our new contract they are now giving positive space on our second flight if we’re unable to get on the first one. Same as Delta, I believe? Just maybe this will alleviate some of this and revenue passengers won’t be affected as much. So you’re right, Delta isn’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. They’re just trying to take care of their customers the best way they can.

More to the point, I don’t think they would have done this if the market for pilots wasn’t what it currently is. JMHO.

I wonder how the POV of the 9E contributors will change on this topic after they make it to a major...
