Totally legal, just not cool in my own opinion. If I think a trip/seat is one of my 6 most critical for the year and it doesn't look like everyone will get one, I check in S2. If I already checked in as S3, I leave it as is. That's just me... |

Checking in S3 and then at minute 31 changing it to S2 is a douche move (subject to opinion), and is furthermore not really comparable to the “contention” over oobws or using an SIL. (Still not really sure how we can hold those 3 up in the light together but hey, it’s a free country.) |

I’ll lay it down in very simple terms since you decided not to read the posts and just wade in.

I thought that once you check in your priority level was locked in (S2 vs S3.)

Very much agreed, along with listing for multiple flights on the same day.

This is a violation of company policy as well as listing for multiple jumpseats. If you encounter a multiple jumpseat listing call the pilot and ask which one he really wants. If he refuses to cancel one call the CPSC and they will cancel whichever one you want and book you.

Non rev and jumpseat
I see all the time guys list non rev for one flight and jumpseat for the next one. Then it seems like they want me to tell them how nice they are when they get on their first flight and cancel the jumpseat for their second flight so I can have it. I don’t know of any way to see this in advance and call them on it. So I just say thanks a lot and take their leftovers.

Keep in mind this is for going home, not commuting to work. You have a trip that is scheduled to end at 1530. You go to book the jumpseat and the one at 1615 is already booked, so you book the next one at 1830. On the last day of your trip you check the loads and see that the flight at 1615 has 20 seats open and 7 people listed. Jumpseat is still booked. Obviously you are going to attempt to non rev on the earlier flight. Must you cancel your jumpseat on the later flight to list on the earlier flight? That runs the risk on an unexpected IROP pushing a bunch of pax onto both flights and not getting home. Thoughts? |

The way to fix this is to allow the pilot to list for the Jumpseat and NonRev like every other airline.
NEVER HAPPEN. That would be too easy. It would allow you to exercise your seniority without playing games?! THEN They could even AUTOMATICALLY give you the best seat available awarded by your seniority when you DH around domestically. That way when I forget to improve my company assigned last row, non-reclining, middle seat on 757-3 because I'm exhausted from a 7 day trip with 30+ yrs..... I won't walk past an economy comfort full of DL and Connection Pilots and FAs none of whom are 30 yrs old. After being badgered by the Capt and Gate agent to ride the jumpseat... Because of course they couldn't ask the other 9 people? True story. OFG |
