WOW...brings up a whole new angle to the SLI. The 747s would be new aircraft and not subjected to fences, and the 777 would be replacement for 787s and subject to fNWA seat febce.

Dogs and Cats living together:eek:

What's that sound I hear? Lawyers doing cartwheels and cheering in joy??

That being said.... bring em on!!

We announced leaving MAO today. I know Bar is quite upset. ;) The amount of freight coming out of that place that we could have taken advantage of by running equipment that could actually carry freight is astounding.

Stupid question ... I keep trying to list myself non-rev for a flight and the seat option is defaulted to business. I thought we weren't supposed to ever select that?

Is it a mistake? Should I select coach instead?

Of course you can select the option to coach if you prefer (Nothing more pleasant than sitting in the middle seat for a trans-con commute fighting for armrest:)

We aren't supposed to select business class when COBUS, unless offered by the gate agent when you check-in. That's probably what confused ya.

Thanks. I thought we were never to touch the business/first.

You can touch it.

As long as you keep going on your way back to your nice coach middle seat. :D

(always select first/business when nonrevving for pleasure... no penalty for playing the nonrev slot machine)

If you have an earlier hire date than I do, I'd tell you to stick to coach for the remainder of your career:)

Buzz,

I know you don't want to have to go 30 pages back to catch up, so....

The latest word a few pages back is the AE will be out the first week of September with another one to follow in January.

For the September AE

20 crews for the 747-400
20 crews for the 777 and
?? crews for 7ers.

I don't know if the ??'s mean a lot or a little. :)

Mucho gracias New. Sounds promising! Any new bases? I'm assuming just movement into and out of current ones.

Delta to recall, hire flight attendants
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
August 18, 2010

Delta will soon recall flight attendants on voluntary furlough and begin external recruiting for regular and Language of Destination (LOD) flight attendants.

Joanne Smith, s.v.p.-In-Flight Service, said in a memo that while Delta is still determining exact numbers, the plan is to begin training in January and to have the flight attendants on the line by June 1.

“We do not expect the recall to fill all of our need, therefore, we will also simultaneously begin the internal (for company transfers) and external recruitment process for both regular and LOD flight attendants,” she said. “Of course, no job offers will be made to external applicants until the recall process is complete and all voluntary furlough flight attendants who have preferenced ‘any base’ or a base to which we are recalling have been offered a position.”

Joanne said that Delta expects to see more than 100,000 applicants, so employees should tell family members and friends interested in applying that the process could take several months.

Complete information about the recall and hiring process and employee referral program will be available soon in a dedicated section on the IFS page on DeltaNet.

Interesting.........I figured that the interpreter program would go away but I also wonder if they plan on hiring enough to replace the Asia flight attendants?

For September nothing more than the standard SLC 767 transitioning to er. But, for January the 330 to ATL was made to sound like a sure thing, with 320's and 744's possibly winding up there. Oh, and the 767 category in ATL going to all er.

All positive movement though. Looks like thing are moving in the right direction. :)

Ha. Fat chance. Do you know how cheap they are? Wait. That didn't come out right. :D

No. If they are paid the same as they were when I was going out there, I doubt if the company would want to replace them. Did they get a raise, Ferd?
