Quick question:

I bid reserve, but I have vacation in Sept and was given a line for the remaider of the month. I don't like one of the trips and would like to swap it with the pot. The trip I want starts on the last day of my vacation.

Can we pick up trips from open time (or swap board for that matter) while on vacation?

Thx

Go to the DALPA website and look under the Contract Administration Committee. Then look for the Bid Monitor Reports. It will show you the min required staffing and the actual staffing. On average, the airline is staffed about 7% above the min required staffing. The min staffing formula is built for an airline, economy, weather, etc. that all behaves in an even predictable way. We all know that unpredictability is the only thing predictable in all those factors, thus the overstaffing.

The staffing is broken down by category (Base,Equipment,Seat) but the contract requires staffing to match by position (Equipment,Seat). Thus one base could be understaffed while other bases are overstaffed and they could still be in compliance with the contract.

Probably more than you were looking for, but that's how it works.

No alfa, that's very helpful. Thankyou. :)

No. You can't fly on vacation.

Anyone see the youtube video of a drunk Delta pilot in London? Is she really a pilot?

She's known on the fourth floor as the "black widow". She has filed numerous sexual harrasment claims against other pilots. Psycho would be a better description.

For all my fellow 73N brothers and sisters out there. I checked out the 33 knot crosswind limit yesterday in Detroit. It works. ;)

Please, whatever the situation was, let's leave it off a public forum.
