Been looking for somewhere to take the family on a quick get away. Man, if this weekend is any indication of how full we are going to be this summer, we are in store for record loads. Heck, it is even difficult to get to Buffalo NYC to take the kiddos to Niagara. Now that is impressive.

Yesterday I did a DTW-JAX-DTW & it was full, full, full. The airport was busy too. BTW, today is day 2 of 5 & I'll let ya know how the rest of the loads are. :D

More Republic E170s to fly for Delta

An amendment to Republic Airways’ capacity purchase agreement with Delta Air Lines will allow it to add six dual-class Embraer E170s to the Delta Connection network, Republic announced in late April. The move follows a previously announced amendment in January that added eight Republic E170s to its Delta capacity purchase agreement.
The contract calls for a six-year term of service for Delta. Republic expects to start moving the airplanes from its Frontier Airlines operation next month until all six enter Delta Connection service by October 1. By then Republic and its subsidiaries will operate 16 E175s, 14 E170s and 24 ERJ 145s for Delta.
The fleet reallocation furthers Republic’s plans to remove all E170s from the Frontier operation and provides the company the opportunity “to make network adjustments and capacity reductions to create better efficiency and lower costs for the branded operation.” The company now expects this year’s capacity, as measured by ASMs, either to stay flat or grow up to 1 percent on its Frontier operations.

It's old news. Check the red bold print.

Speaking of RAH. I just received a newsletter today from council 74, which included this gem:
__________________________________________________ ____
Republic Air Holdings (RAH) Scope Issue
This is obviously a contentious issue for a majority of our pilots. During the MEC meeting, we had a very detailed briefing from our DALPA legal staff that explained the current scope language and how holding companies, such as RAH, fit into that language. A vigorous debate took place both in Delegate Committee and in plenary session. We accept the fact that RAH, as it is currently structured, does not violate the scope language in the PWA as currently written. But we also feel that we need to consider how we construct future language to protect the interests of Delta pilots.

Therefore, we amended our resolution to focus our attention on how we protect ourselves in the future. Also take a look at Resolution 11-95, which directs the MEC administration to do a financial analysis of flying done under the Delta brand.

We all feel strongly that we must take a proactive approach to this issue. We appreciate and encourage your input.

Hey boys......the new ACARS software is on it's way! Looks like the 737 fleet is the first to get it. Go to Deltanet and pull up the 737 fleet page and check it out (its in the dead center).

fNWA guys will be able to just review and note the things (like logging TO and landing IDs) that aren't turned on yet. But, overall this is good. T or any other line check ER guys know when this will be turned on for us ER types?

THe rest is up to mangers. Most of the time, the numbers they provide are untruthful, exaggerated or creative. Managers get paid to create value for our shareholders and create revenues for the company. This should not be a pilots' concern.

Too much energy is wasted into unnecessary dialog between the workers and managers. Our union needs to demand and negotiate restoration. It is not our concern that management cant keep up with the cost of doing business. Its their fault, maybe they need paycuts:) But ME THINKS, management can keep up with the cost of business and they will do everything in their power to prove otherwise. I hope our union gets this.

This is a serious question and not flame bait. Your plan is essentially the plan followed by the APA at American. They are now 4+ years into negotiation and the NMB basically told them, the numbers do matter, the ability of the company to pay your wages IS a pilots' concern, and we won't deal with you until you change your stance. The last background point is that the NMB has no limit on how long these negotiations can take. Literally, they can go forever.

So the question is: How will you convince the NMB to handle our case differently than they have handled every other case so far?

(Hint: if your answer involves changing the Railway Labor Act to make it more labor friendly then please look at the makeup of Congress and tell me how that works.)

^^^+1^^^
We are/were hired as pilots. They are hired as managers. Reasonable accommodations(s) for unusual circumstances? Absolutely. But 40% pay-cuts, in addition to termination of pensions in the name of said "reasonable accommodations"? Absolutely not. Even if we go to C2K wages, that is a huge windfall for management's bottom line when you figure no more pensions to pay for. I'm not advocating sticking your head in the sand...

I don't care if RAH fits in the current language, supposedly constructed by the best in the business (insert a smilie that barfs). All I care is that frontier is not allowed to fly for us and rah = frontier. To discuss anything else IMHO is to distract unless the discussion is specifically and only about our contract. If that's the case dalpa legal people are right and our pwa needs a fixin.

Alfa,
Excellent question and I think the answer lies with our elected union. As long as I know my union has our back and that they arent "rubbing" shoulders with our managers, I know the outcome would be fair. An in-depth and complete "audit" would be in order to analyze the companies true financial health . I want success for the UNION pilots and DELTA.

My original point was that I was hired to do my job and managers' were hired to do their jobs. I am doing everything in my power to help Delta succeed, what else am I supposed to do? I cant work for nothing.
