Maybe I'll start doing my own version of this:

"Ladies and gentleman, you'll be relieved to know that I have accumulated many thousands of flight hours flying between such airports as SBN, AZO, MKE, etc. I have flown many light piston aircraft, hold type ratings in various Regional Jets, and am a Gold Seal CFII/MEI . . . . . . "

The only people who think pilots are cool are little kids and other pilots

No disrespect meant to our military pilots/vets. I just find the self-congratulating PA's a little nauseating.

I've run across this tool once before when I was a pax on his jet. The company knows him well and has counseled him before...but apparently, there's no rules against making a fool out of yourself.

Just my opinion....but I dont like what we have in Alpa National, period!! Would you go through a divorce with the same attorney that represents your wife? Hell No!!! Why are we in a union that represents the other side? Dalpa is yet another issue that we all could go on and on about. I was at ASA for almost 6 years and our MEC was useless!!! I personally want to get out from under the ALPA umbrella.

Honestly, I think most of us have been dissatisfied with our union. DPA is just another option to explore and if modeled after a SWA type of union, could work out very well!!

Totally incorrect. You keep looking at just the pay rates and ignore the W2's. Why do you do that?

Heyas Carl,

Watch what happens with the negotiating committee "election".

If they change up the players, doesn't that amount to the same thing that they are complaining about...IE changing the lineup before the big game?

Nu

And switch it from 4 members back to 3 members like somebody wanted before he went to the ivory tower.......

I agree Nu. It will be just as damaging IMO.

  • Are other ALPA members the "other side" ?
  • How has the alleged conflict of interest effected the Delta pilots?
  • Were you at ASA when your MEC got you two industry leading contracts? Was that contract enforced?
  • How do you expect DPA to achieve better results than ALPA? Please be specific.

Pardon the interruption however I think this is faster than me searching the contract.

Finishing a trip today and I go into golden days tomorrow. We have mx and now they have us dhding tomorrow which is also my 7th day. If I deviate from my dhd today do I still get paid as though I'm working tomorrow or is my PB day that they're giving me stay on my schedule?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

TK

Had a similar thing a few months back and I got a partial pay back day, deviating from deadhead.

You're welcome, MC. The company profit sharing & 401k match contributions do not appear in my W2 numbers. Both are pre-tax plans and profit sharing was 5.7% last year (it hasn't been 10% for a long time), while the company 401k match is 9.3%. Of course what is also not reflected in my W2 is the first 9.3% I had to contribute to my 401k to get the company's matching contribution. You may want to deduct that from my W2 to make a more valid comparison of retirement benefits.

Smokey,
Thanks for the fast response and the information.

Surely if you are "involved" enough to send in a card then you are willing to take an extra day out of your life to actually show up at a LEC meeting to make sure your platform will be implemented.

LEC meeting turnout is traditionally very weak, and if there are as many "fencers" out there as are claimed, I'm sure that you could eject the current leadership and give the pilots of delta the leadership of "DPA proponents"......

Start walking the walk of your ideals of "bettering the lives of Delta Pilots", or just stop talking already.

The answer is the same as all the other times you asked this exact same question. Which is: these new reps would still be saddled with ALPA national. An organization that controls your finances and your access to any expertise. This very same ALPA that is totally conflicted with their representation of the regionals. The DPA would not be burdened with such a conflicted bureaucracy.

Your desire for everyone to stop talking is probably ALPA's only hope here. If people continue to question and debate, ALPA is toast at Delta.

Does anyone really expect to see what is in the contract opener? I would be very surprised if it is published. There may be rumors but I highly doubt that it will be made public.
