Guys, I may be misunderstanding GS's but thought no one could get a second until everyone who was requesting one had gotten at least 1.

This is yet another reason why the NWA system was better because you were paid time and a half for any flying over 80 hours. Period. It spread the wealth around a lot better than this system.
Not praising the NWA system as the best, just saying it was a vast improvement over this current system. Carl |

My wife was watching a movie on Lifetime about J.K. Rowling. This is who played her and thus kept me in the room:

However, this G/S deal is WAAAAY mo' bettah' for reserve guys opting to work on days off, or on-call days outside of one's duty time(s). Chuck |

Just reading over the Contract Awareness Bulletin regarding this new sick leave monitoring. Is it just me or is this more of the same philosophy that accompanied the commuter policy?
Is our sick abuse as a group so bad that they want to create an adversarial relationship over this? Most of us are big boys and girls that do not abuse it. I'd hate to see the "constructive engagement" era end because of perceived abuse by a few perceived bad apples. Not a fan of this latest trend  Reserve utilization is two times normal It is costing money in the utilization of reserve callouts with the resulting tickle down to GS being awarded on the weekends, with technically a category is adequately staffed. They are in to saving money, and sick calls cost them money because they are using too many reserves to cover many of the more complex trips. If you are sick, you are sick. Follow the recommendations in the "scheduling alert" and there should be no issues. Stating that you can no longer "fart with confidence" always seems to work :D |

And of course, as always, if you're a commuter and can't get to work, feel free to call in sick there too. ;)
I knew that you would add that to the list. :D I would love to commute for family reasons, but the loads are just too high and my choice of local is getting way too much attention from Flight Ops for commuters using the call in honest policy. No thanks, not today. |
