But it does come with throttles that move, a yoke that moves so I know what the other guy is doing and all that... after all, we are there to fly the airplane are we not? I just don't like the idea of being engineered out of the loop.. especially by the French. But to each his own. I plan on finishing my career on the 767. If it gets replaced by some poodle loving, cheese eating surrender monkey designed flying transportation system, I guess you will move up a little faster.
But we spend most of the time on autopilot anyways. Even on the 88 they want us VNAVing to the marker. And the 767 still doesn't have a table with a 120 lb weight limit. :D |

Irish? Really?
My question is, did ACL get scooped on airplane order news? |

FTB, an SLI with Alaska would not effect 80% of the list at all. At the bottom, it would be disastrous. In effect, we'd be narrow body pilots, or FO's the rest of our careers.

Never said either of those things... sensitive are we?
But I question his motives given that he said that right before the AE with the new ATL A330 base. |

Now I could understand your sentiment, I really do.

IF this is true, is the 739 going to pay the same as the 757 it's replacing?
I know the answer. Per the contract - NO. It better pay the same as the "clown car category" (namesake taken from 80knots) taxiing around ATL making more than what our 747 guys are making now. "Per the next contract - we want "clown car category + 1". :) (P.S. - I think our negotiating committee should bring that forth to management, without explanation. "Richard, we'd like [a clown car pay category] please?" Reverse psychology states that management may just approve it thinking we're asking for another pay concession, them assuming that the "Stockholm syndrome" they intended for the labor group (pilots) has finally set in.) :)

The numbers on the 737-900 are the same as the -800, so maybe it will not be too bad. Still, loading and unloading through that narrow entrance is going to take f o r e v e r.
If we're going to expect pay like our 737 operating "brothers", we need to start expecting operations like them too. They 20-minute turn a 737, faster than most outstations can turn a 50-seat RJ. Let's think "out of the box", use some best practices/TTP's (tactics/techniques/procedures) and start shoving people out "both" doors. (Front & rear) Thanks for listening. Ya'll fly safe. GJ P.S. Your earlier post about a drone hitting a C-130 involved an RQ-7. (Shadow) Not one of the types of "remotely piloted vehichles"/"UAV's"/"drones"/"UAS's" (whatever you want to call them, based on whatever day of the week it is) that they're proposing to operate in the National Airspace System anyway. |

FWIW, I fly the airplane with the largest most crooked control wheel in the fleet probably. It's always in a bank turn even when I match the little lines drawn in white out together. But enough about the Airbus, 767 and 88, this is a day dedicated to the 737-900. http://www.popsci.com/files/imagecac...lane-1and2.jpg Tomorrow will be dedicated on deadheading in the middle seat in the back of a 739 where we'll learn invaluable lessons like - how to open a peanut bag with both elbows touching! |
