We are frequently told how lucky we are in contrast to United / CAL because of their pilots on furlough bypass. Just for SA, their latest bid has 243 advancements and their junior Captain is a 2005 hire flying the 737 on Guam.
A $7,000 wrist watch just seems incredibly indulgent. With my career trajectory I just don't dream that big. Barons and Boats come from being the proprietor of your own business. By that time you're so wrapped up in cash flow and reinvesting that the $300,000 toy is not the problem, it is your concern over the choice of a 30% annual opportunity cost, or the risk of going that far in debt when you're only assured of the next 60 to 120 days cash flow. ... hence why I see a lot of Baron owners who wear ten year old tennis shoes ... your toys and your tools are in the same box and you waste money on nothing. Of course, the watches have been great investments. My best friend has an old AOPA Brietling that his Uncle paid $50 for, worth several thousand now. My 85 Casio dive watch is on its 7th battery and works great! It cost $80 new then and can be bought (put back in production due to demand) for $60 today. |
As much as I wanna throw up when I say this... Go Kentucky.

Wierd.. When I wanted to quote your post, all this watch stuff came up... Anyway... do you know how many pilots are on furlough at the other airlines?
240 took jobs with LCAL so that leaves the remainder of the 1437, roughly 1200 on furlough. Something like a 6 to 1 bypass going on. Could be they are close to hiring again. |

And now from my generous nature. I would like this watch for all my "Delta Brothers" as a good faith gift from Management. This beauty was developed for the Pan AM pilots in 1952. Pan Am management went directly to Rolex and requested them to build this GMT watch for their pilots.:) Imagine, what a great uniform piece this would be!!! TEN |

By that, what do you mean? I have no idea to what "status quo" you are referring
I expect more of the same from you in the future. keep up the totally inadequate work. maybe you should "take your talents" to the ballot for MEC chair. Or maybe you should just take your talents to South Beach. |

Anyone know of a good place to get a old rolex worked on?
First call them. Dallas is the better of the two and I would NOT use an independent jeweler (might save $100-$200) to work on that watch. Dallas RSC = 214-871-0500 TEN |
AE out Monday 17 DC-9's sticking around through 2013. 7 will be retired because they are coming up on heavy checks. DC-9 sim will move to atl. ATL will have some 767 displacements. Discuss.
