Just curious Shy, Is it also unjust when Northeast, Pan Am, Western, and Northwest pilots that also may not have degrees are at DAL now? I bet not even an interview or tested.

Scenario 1) An airline was acquired and its equipment and employees integrated.
Scenarios 2) An airline was in negotiations and was given a "pay cuts for jobs at mainline," offer.
The second sets are damaging precedent. It's selling jobs and thereby lowering standards.

There is a difference:
Scenario 1) An airwas a quired and its equipment and employees integrated.
Scenarios 2) An airline was in negotiations and was given a "pay cuts for jobs at mainline," offer.

It is essentially two separate hiring mins. IMO there should be only one. Maybe
that's because I recently finished my degree with only a future job at Delta as the driving force behind that

Is there a difference between acquired and bought? Acquired or bought for mainline- employees get integrated.
For a regional they may get an interview maybe or just look for jobs elsewhere.

Thanks for NOT answering my question. I didn't ask is there a difference. I already understand the difference because I am not mainline and rules and equality do NOT apply at the regional level. Only at the mainline. I fail to see your analogy about selling. PNCL was FORCED into bankruptcy by DAL because that's what DAL wanted! So as long as you work for the carrier that is doing the forcing its ok. Based on history I am sure DAL and ALPA would have been there for everyone that lost jobs at Pinnacle if they were dissolved or liquidated so unemployment would be short lived right?
Sorry, but it happens all the time -- at the mainline, LCC, cargo and regional level. What's unfair is that somehow, someone, insisted on preferential interviews with a different set of hiring minimums for a group of pilots.

Stop the presses! An airline went bankrupt! History was made!

That happened at regionals all the time. Especially Pinnacle. Normal mins 1200/200? No problem, just pay $40k for a "jet transition course" for JetU, ATP, or Riddle and you can come with 250/10! And just out of curiosity, I'm interested to hear what people like you and ShyGuy think about the "fairness" about the new ATP rule and airline hiring. Is it fair that because you went to a school with a powerful state lobbyist that you can have reduced hiring mins vs someone that went to a different aviation school but needs the full time?
