Is what it is. The flows are running out and we will have a better shot in 2015. I haven't given up for this year, but I'm resorting to next year to hopefully get an invite.

I know many will say "you have to be patient". I get that, but every month is lost seniority which transcribes to opportunity and pay. Also, when you eat, breath, and think only about how to get noticed and it has been burned down every time it does get frustrating. I definitely know what you mean. Like Olario stated, it will happen. I just know you, I, and many others that have been hard core for 7-8 years wish we knew and it was soon.

Best wishes for us both!
Exactly. It's not if but when. I think I'm more panicked because the longer we wait the further down the list we go and I don't want to miss being on the front end of the wave. I've got mainline guys in their 50's in the crashpad who've been on RSV for decades and they're miserable. Definitely don't want to end up like that.

I agree. Every month that's another 85 or more ahead of us. Half a year can make a magnitude of difference for us in opportunity at a major. I've been on reserve for 6 years at my current employer, but had I been hired 6 months later I wouldn't have seen captain for at least another 4 years. 6 months earlier a line.

The good news for us is there is a huge retirement wave coming. It really hasn't begun yet. Unless congress allows to age 70 - heaven forbid! - we should be in good shape as far as seniority progression is concerned. We never know what is in store: ebola, 9/11, etc. but the next 13 years shouldn't be like the last 13 even if we aren't hired for another year. I believe in 2021 Delta is slated to lose approximately 800 based on mandatory 65 and the numbers here on apc. Some may quit before.

I'm hopeful it's soon for us both. I can tell you are like me - just wanting the opportunity. I'm hopeful much sooner than later.

When I was hired at DAL, they had 96 airplanes. I did not know or care if they were going to have 97........

Definitely a good point. My main goal is to be hired by Delta and Delta only. I was born in the city where it all began for them. So much of my reasoning of wanting to work there goes back to my roots. Having been on the bottom of current employer though it's not where I want to be at Delta, and probably won't be even if it takes another year or longer. Just trying to do my best for family QOL matters as my kids grow up. Regardless though, it's Delta for me opposed to other places for many reasons.

Missed OBAP due to work....heard there they were looking you up on the computer to tell you what your score was and ways to increase it.

This is not true at all. They will not and can not tell you your score. I talked to Cal Flan myself and he said they were not allowed to tell you how they score the app or what your score is. This comes straight from Cal who said their lawyers will not allow them to give out this information.

He said that it would not be fair to others if they told me how they score my app and if they did then everyone would just manipulate their app to get the highest score. Like it has been said before, it is your entire app that they score and not any one single item they are looking for.

49% of the hiring this year is from military and another 40% is from SSP or flow. That leaves only 10% of the new hires from OTS. The competition right now is pretty fierce and eventually we will all get the call.

I think that's a decent estimate. My interview group consisted of 9 military and 3 civilian. Military instructor pilots are the hot ticket right now, but that pool is being rapidly drained by all the airlines.

I did Aero Crew and had great success. I got the Conditional Job Offer!

The prep made me comfortable with the entire interview process. He went through where to stay, how to get there to check in, each of the tests (all parts of the Cog), and did 2 - 45 minute question interview sessions which were taped. I came home and watched the sessions with my husband and he also added great advice. It is always nice to see how you will perform and act under pressure before it is the 'real' pressure.

You should definitely call him and see what it is all about. He has lots of good pointers for the whole process.

Good luck.

I just got the interview email and I have 4,100 Turbine, 3,200 TPIC, 3,000 IP (P-3, T-6, T-1), NATOPS, 3 internal recs, 3.6 GPA and no fix it email. My app has been in for a year.

My interview study guides are all from March and earlier interviewee's. Has anything changed since then? It looks pretty stable from the thread.

I got the interview invite today, very unexpected since it was a Sunday. 3800 TT, 2500 PIC, Mil IP/EP, 5 Letters of Rec (all Junior FO's), 3.2 GPA. No fix it email, app in for a year and a week. Very grateful and now nervous!

Congrats. Can't believe they sent the email on a Sunday either but good luck.
