Good question. Dressing in a uniform, especially when one can go through kcm, is odd.

Not odd at all. If one wishes to pass thru carrying large shampoo bottles, or bottles of water of just about any size, then being in uniform makes a lot of sense.

Especially in an airport without a KCM line.

I did look in the FOM and I stand corrected about uniform and non-reving. I personally just dress business casual, never had a problem. But to each their own. Traveling with family we always check one large bag with liquids we take. But we also look at loads and try to stay flexible.

Question. Does CA upgrade reset your base month for CQ?

In general your base month should reset because of the upgrade and the periodic checking that goes with it. While it's not a new type it is a qualification event. You will actually have to track two currencies in addition to your landings: Your yearly CQ and yearly (at least) line check (121.440). That is the minimum FAA requirements... Company ops specs may vary due to approved CQ.
