In terms of seniority, compass being a “junior” airline wouldn’t behoove as at all for merger.

Also don’t forget compass had a DTW base at one time so very senior people that are barely holding reserve in Minneapolis and Detroit would probably end up getting booted to New York
As a potential new hire, this frightens me. The only base I'm interested in @ EDV is DTW, and it sounds like a moving target that's only going to get further and further away.

We're not merging. We wouldn't be full steam hiring for growth if we were merging
BL said he doesn't wanna merge us. Junior FO in DTW hired this year. Junior Captain in DTW has about 2.5 years seniority.

The other DC carriers seem to be a bit more negative. And, I don't care to punish another pilot group because their management is bad. Just trying to stay positive. I dig 9E. I just think we'd be best served with merging groups rather than doing another ExpressJet deal. Just my humble 2 cents. Good mojo and all that.
Understood. I now see your point. Thanks. Eh, I agree too btw

Allow me to sort of refresh some memories and quell merger thoughts. If a merger occurs between us and CZ, that wouldn’t begin until from the end of 2019 to mid 2020. So for now there’s no worries about that. Shifting is in the works though. Something I’m not privy to yet but there is a shift of something in the works. I’ll try to squeeze some intel soon.

It will be. If we get E175s, that's where they will go. A west coast base would be primarily CRJs.

How much of that will be as an FO on reserve on the 200? How many monthly credit hours can I expect to get as a CRJ 200 FO on reserve in DTW?

Or, let it go, relax, have a genuine conversation with the hard working FAs and fellow pilot on your next flight.
Heck, Compass pilots have a much bleaker outlook than us, and they're joking about snack baskets and dropping some of the funniest memes I ever seen on their feed. I'm hoping our future growth entails an acquisition and fair merger with them. I don't care about their planes. I want their humor and positive attitudes in our pilot group.
Speaking as a Compass pilot, thank you! We would LOVE to be owned by a competent management group with fat stacks of cheddah. We are a group of refugees on incompetence island and the pilots work really hard to stay positive, have fun (but be professional), and keep the operation running smooth. The thing that really hoses us is our management's inability to plan their way out of a paper bag and our crummy maintenance department - both would be changed by a new owner, so from our viewpoint, bring it on. Also, even though our entire pilot group (okay, 90%) has less than 3.5 years of seniority, I figure our certificate would stay separate at least for awhile so nothing would hose us over too quick.

Junior DTW 200 FO linr holder was hired Jan of 18. So he probably set reserve 3 or 4 months total. Most FO reserve guys get around 80 to 83 hours of credit depending on how much you're used. If you live in base, reserve guys can get into the 90s easily through a day or two of pickups.

But getting the 200 is not guaranteed, correct? It's based on company need, and class seniority (of which I'd be dead last).

As a husband and father, I'm not much of one for gambling
