I had class a few months ago, someone came down from upper management to talk with us about the future plans. I forget his name but this guy was one that knew the inner workings and was one to make and execute decisions.
He did tell our class that, they will be filling NYC heavily over the next few months. Come end of 2017 we will be pulling out of NYC and will be gone in 2018. Most of my class wanted NYC, and actually got it. So this news really wasn't good for us to hear.

Back to the desert. No one wants to keep them around any longer than they have to. As soon as the price break point between paying the lease and revenue generated is reached, lop off their heads and send them packing!!

Might have more to do with the lack of quality pilots at the regional level as mainline retirements increase than anything else.

I think this is spot on for the FO's but unless you have some insight I do not, I think the captain spots in DTW and MSP, especially on the 900, are going to be tough to get for a while... the captain movement to Delta is pretty much done and most of those left (at least on the 900) don't seem to have any interest in going anywhere else at this point. Short of a flow for the guys that were interested but turned down I just don't see many openings (assuming the company even backfills those openings, which they haven't done on the last two vacancies)

I can say a good portion of D2C guys are sitting on CJOs, and plenty more are looking at their next move.
Outlook on hiring still looks good, still getting the numbers they've aimed for. Nice to see my name move up the list every month, and find a stack more below it as well.

Considering the money they are investing in them (paint, cabin, and yes I know they painted the Saabs) I don't think they'll all be gone. A small fleet of 50 seaters will be needed to serve a few markets where 76 seats are overkill. I can't recall what scope limits are for 50 seat flying, but it's apparent Skywest/ASA are parking some 200s as they transition to bigger jets.

Think we have 60 in class this month and more than that for august. Keep them coming
