[QUOTE=AGJ1125;2206133]I am quite happy with 9E and have nothing but good things to say about my experience so far. The commute takes a toll and the conditions changing at Envoy made me think about giving them a closer look, that's all. Thank you for the thoughts and feedback. Those are all very good points. Take the interview, then if you get the job, make a decision.

Got the bonus. Looking at tax rate and deductions, it was taxed at 47%.
Almost a half of it gone, wow.

*shrug* so you live in a state with income tax. That same state will give u it back at end of year, along with feds because that's how taxes work. People who make 7k a paycheck get charged at a higher tax rate than people who make 2k per check.

Meantime, have a kid.

Even if I subtract the NY State and NYC taxes, it's still taxed at 34%. Thought I read somewhere that it's taxed at 25%?

Is this your first job? They categorized it as a pay not a bonus so it comes out at a lower rate. The feds have that function. If your state elects not to then youll get it back when u file your taxes.

Welcome to the progressive tax system.
