No, that's not what I'm thinking at all.

I'm done for the night. SA fail.

Check the hotlines and email the appropriate group. Those in the group are a mix of line pilots, instructors, and full-time PBS folks who will answer your questions and concerns. Each person in th group understands coding down to the 1's and 0's.

It will change naturally over the next 6 years with our coming retirements anyway. That's a force they can't control.

Okay, humor me this; what are they trying to control exactly? And why do the higher ups keep saying "there will never be a flow to Delta". E.B. Said this very recently himself. So when I here "control the hiring process", I hear sort out the best canadates. I understand it's their choice, but I just want to understand how American is doing it while protecting their culture? Statistically I think the amount slipping through the cracks would be about the same.

If you size up "where do I want to be" in terms of regionals, you should have an end goal in sight. Currently, if it's Delta, you likely want Endeavor. If American, sort through the WO's for your QOL. United? Well, do some research... honestly, I really can't speak to UA.
UAL started a new program in Aug, 2016:
If you have your CFI, you get hired by Lufthansa flight academy in AZ. After working for them until you get your ATP, then you go directly to narrow-body UAL. Coex/Expressjet (not ASA) and Commutair have preferential interview.

Bid base first, aircraft second. Quality of life is more important than the equipment you fly. Example: if you need to be in DTW and they only offer DTW 200 in your indoc class then bid that.

Other than that there are guys who will say the 900 is sooooooo much better (which mechanically it is) but there are other factors such as trip duration, available lines, destinations, flight time, etc. to consider. It's a toss up for me. I wanted to fly the 900 but I'm on the 200 and I like it a lot. The short trips work well for me. To each their own.

The 900 is a superior plane in every way.

They're both airplanes. The 900 has two flight attendants so the odds of at least one of them being crabby is slightly higher, and even higher if they're from New York.

Sure, if that's what's important to you. Snack boxes are like non-reving. We get the leftovers, but yes the APU is a lot better. I flew the Saab with no APU and had fun with that too. It is what you make of it. Like I said, they're both airplanes
