Wait... so by us not wanting or thinking your deserve the flow that you don't want or think you deserve, that is cronyism?

I'm not against a flow under the right circumstances (although remember, what flows up, must flow down) but I don't think management will go for it so its a dead issue. What is the SSP interview success rate? This may be impossible to do, but now take out all the bad attitudes and grossly insufficient preparers and what's the percentage then? Probably pretty high. I bet the average "off the street" hire puts in some massive hours preparing for a DL/UA/AA/etc interview. What percentage of the SSP (especially early ones) did that in your honest opinion? In any case I don't see DL management ever going for a flow when there are other ways to get as many pilots from pretty much any regional that they want. YMMV.
As for being "against DCI", we're just against the outsourcing of our jobs that's all. We're not "against Alaska" we're just against DL management filling up half the seats on 14 flights a day between a single city pair without us flying it once (that's an extreme example and has been corrected due to market forces but not due to our scope and that needs to change to prevent it from occurring in the future).

Our current CP and ex MEC chair couldn't pass the SSP.
I'm sure he had a bad attitude also. A hypothetical flow pilot would still have to pass training and probation. Wouldn't that weed out problems? Seems like HR is worried about job security and mainline pilots are worried their s--it smells the same as ours.

It started off as an 80% no. More than half of the nos were the fly off and die. Before delta had to shut this down from attrition they extended it to FOs and over all the fos have something like a 75% yes. Couple captains have got the yes the second time.
Grand total is a 50-50 Coin toss betwen ca and fo but I don't have exact numbers in front of me.

It was obvious the pass rate would increase as it reached the more junior ranks, and that is exactly what happened.
I just had a 2001 XJ guy come through recurrent that SSP'd in 2014... he did absolutely fantastic and outperformed his captain with competency. Took a bit of coaxing to get him to be proactive like he would be in the plane due to years of being trained to watch the other guy hang themselves in the sim. Fly the sim like you fly the plane... it's my job as an evaluator to provide guys/gals an environment where it feels like a real plane, and I bend over backwards to do that (otherwise why are we even there? Screw the video game, this is about real world ops is a mantra I repeat). I'll break it apart as need be if someone is underperforming.

I worked for Pinnacle when it was Northwest Airlink and had zero expectations of a flow to NW, nor did I want that. Sure, I was flying NW pax, but let's be clear that was and is the JV team. (bring on the hate!!
)
I do not believe flows are the way- there should be some screening.

What do you think some of those Delta pilots had to go through to get hired? Some probably went to multiple jobs fairs, meet and greet just to get call. Of course some are against a flow, and I don't blame them. Why should some of those guy put all that time in and watch Delta hand out a flow later.

If the delta pilots on web boards is any indication, there is an unfair prevailing color they are all being painted with.
Hey so is there a lot of way out there in the super senior of your ranks? Im asking because I'm not sure if i should take the upgrade right away when i go on the ssp. Of course, I didnt think our senior senior were THAT bad a guys and unhirable, but i gotta start using that delta mindset.

I don't speak for the entire Delta pilot group but what have you to understand is the majority were hired without flow. They feel they earned the job by interviewing. It's not a question of whether regional pilots "deserve a flow." Look at it as more of a rite of passage, badge of honor, etc. This same thing applies to our new hire training hotels. I can't tell you how many captains I've flown with that don't give a crap about negotiating for them because they didn't get them decades ago.
I think the only way a flow happens is if Delta gets desperate but I would expect push back from the Delta pilot group. Not because you're less worthy but because it's a new concept and change is hard to get used to. In the end, don't take it personally.
