Did you ever think Delta would pay a $10,000 training bonus for a total of $60,000 first year FO? You might remember some pilots had to pay for training. You never know what tomorrow brings. Just look at the election or college football yesterday - #2, 3 & 4 lose in same weekend. It's only happened once before.

I doubt they had full control over NWA pilots because of ALPA's merger policy. Thanks for your sound quality advice.
Don't go blaming management and mainline pilots for our situation. WE (as a collective) voted for this bankruptcy contract. I just received an ALPA ballot in the mail. Do you know what the voting participation was? 3.29%. Looking at the names on the list it looks like all lifers. What do you think is more important to them? A flow? HA! Right now the only thing on their minds is the money pouring into new hire's pockets and they see none of it.

I agree that things will most likely go in pilot's favor over the next few years. I have talked to many unsuccessful SSP candidates and some are afraid to go to Spirit, Allegiant, etc. because they think a flow will be announced shortly after they leave. My point is that you can sit around and wait for a statistical anomaly to occur, or you can take things into your own hands and move on with your career. I had a friend of mine leave a regional to go to Spirit two years ago. He's now in the right seat at a legacy.

Yes correct again with only 2 choices. Accept this or everyone is out of a job. Same choices NWA pilots had... No wait NWA pilots had a merger policy and after what AA did to TWA. Companies cannot throw mainline pilots out on the streets. Their jobs and livelihoods matter but regional pilots do not. If when Republic or Skywest gets bought out just throw out all their pilots just a regional anyway who cares?

The reserve rules here are terrible compared to what they used to be TWO CONTRACTS ago. Remember that pile of garbage that we had until February 2011? That just so happened to be the month I first held a line after sitting reserve for 2.5 years.

Unlimited extension/junior man refusals: You would have to go talk to base management about it, but it was no big deal. "I had plans to go to to do XYZ that day. Next one I will take it." In and out in less than five minutes. None of this "you're the last one" nonsense that goes on now, or so I hear.

Sitting ready reserve and get called to do a DTW-AZO turn. Get back and check your schedule. Nothing on it? Good! Time to go home. Now, you're back on reserve.

Of course our fearless union folks will never address this bc hardly any new hire is on reserve for very long anymore. What are they gonna do when that changes?

Random question. Is there a master list of hotels we can get discounts at as 9E employees? Also I was told by the hotel that paperwork from the company needs faxed to the hotel in order to get the super discounted rate. Is that meant for people who are commuting for work and not leisure traveling?

Just call and ask. I don't think the company is sending over any information if you're paying the bill. There is a master list of all hotels we use in every bid pack.

I also found some interesting info on Skywest's most recent 10Q report. Looks like some of there CPA's expire on a per aircraft basis in 2016, both for them and expressjet. Might hint at where the new 200's are coming from.
