Golden days are like floating holidays from my understanding.

I'm trying to do an objective comparison of both Endeavor and Skywest (my first two choices) and seeing what's a better fit. Delta is where I ultimately want to end up so obviously Endeavor is high up on the list. On the other hand with the multiple people I personally know that are at or have been at Skywest and have very positive things to say it's hard to decide. I don't personally know anybody at Endeavor so it's hard to paint a full picture.
Be sure to take all things said here with a grain of salt. That said, Delta bought Endeavor to groom it into the regional feed it needs for the future. There's something to be said for a company that can groom you to be a Delta pilot, if that's what you want.

Plus, the money you stand to make at 9E is ridiculous if you're willing to work for it. Regionals are a stepping stone for some, so make what you can make, get in and get out. That's my plan at least.

Good luck and hope to see you on the team soon!

I absolutely agree with taking things with a grain of salt from web forums. I'm trying to figure out how far invested Delta is into Endeavor. The more I read about it the more the signs point to they're pretty serious about it. Some random questions: How many deferred items do you typically see on a can? What kind of health insurance do they offer and is it generally good?

Believe it or not, I asked those same questions in my interview. They say they have a nightly capture rate close to 30%, meaning their planes are always being maintained. Seems like a pretty healthy fleet...part of why I was attracted there.

My wife has a good insurance plan, so I can't answer that. Not planning on taking it myself. They did offer up some info, but given my situation, I didn't really tune in for that part

And If someone can answer: What's a typical line for the JFK 200 junior f/o's? Days off per month?

If Delta can get that market share back, you can bet it will be shut down.

11 hard days off per month. Usually 3-4 day trips.

It is rare to find, other than NEF items, yellow stickers on the 900's. Can't speak to the 200's record. As a lifer I can count on one hand with fingers missing the amount of times I have had big ticket items deferred (APU, FMS's Electrical ect.) If there is more than one yellow sticker on any aircraft more times than not they are related subsystems that are affected. Example last (not very productive)4 day trip 8 legs, 5 aircraft one yellow sticker. TCAS inop.

In general, I feel like the further east you go in the system (read NYC flying) the 200's see more (by more I mean compared to planes in the DTW/MSP system) MEL's, simply because it appears that in NYC the mechanics aren't as familiar with some of the more common issues on the 200 as they are with the 900. As they spend more time out east, they should get better at fixing things quickly, but in any case, its not common to get a plane that has anything significant on an MEL anywhere on the 200.

Also, like the rest of the airline the more junior and less experienced tend to be based further East. This is more true with maintenance, though LGA seems to be the bottom rung with them instead of JFK. DTW, MSP, and CVG seem to be the most experienced and skilled.
