I would think after the summer rush we will draw them down. Have everyone through training by December for the LAX base in January. Kidding. Only kidding.

For my class it was "you'll be displaced in half a year" then a year, then a little over two, now a bit over year and a half on property looks like.
Learn the jet, enjoy it, then move on to whatever when the time comes.

That's what we are thinking, but I take it the guy asking is a CRJ newhire, so don't want to set him up for the "right around the corner!" expectations.

RW has said that five aircraft is really the lowest number of planes that is viable. Maybe someone who was around when the Saabs or ATRs drew down could comment. But I could see them hiring (or training captains) into the plane at least until late spring. Summer peak, and, if you look at how many will be upgrading off the plane and flowing by the end of the year, I think it will be years end before the company displaces off it.
Supposedly that is being accelerated. In order to transfer the last ship over in January 2020 (what the PSA was told to expect), we don't stop the transfers this month. Takes a month to do a heavy before they go over - so figure we reach the magic 5-6 planes right at the end of summer flying.
If things go the way we think they go.
