Here's the problem you have. You can't have your cake and eat it.
Republic/Skywest/Endeavor have the work rules and/or pay rates, but they don't have the flow.
Flow clearly works as a recruiting and retention tool, because the classes are full and there is no mass exodus to EDV/RAH etc. A few guys complaining in APC is not going to change that.
I joined the company well aware of the pay rates, and I can live with the work rules, I live in base. For me, the big ticket items were DFW base, no wait for class date, and no training delays.
Instead of a cat, there should be Schrödinger's Regional Pilot.
Complaining about the flow and how it doesn't work, while not applying elsewhere because they are about to flow.

It might be a sub par contract to you, but it isn't for me. Other option would be to commute, and as of now there are no regional contracts worth commuting for.

It's ebbs and flows. If you get 145 as a new hire, you'll have a good chance to upgrade to the 175 if that's what you want. And the 175 new hires likely will get to fly the 145.
Then again - looking at the DCL/OCL seniority list. I don't think anyone can predict what will happen in 2 years when over half of them have flowed.
Maybe in 2 years there will be DEC 175 spots

Two years out there is no way to know what this company will look like....
