Like they say, rather cry in a Rolls Royce.

Right? Mainline AA can't even get 60% on-time D0 (and if they did they get a performance bonus for hitting 60%), but all the AA regionals are now fighting for 80% D0.

Having said that, I'd also much rather getting paid mainline rates to do nearly half the same work.

just do all the stuff listed in FM-1 and worrying about D-0 will be a thing if the past. 25 minute turns will go away too. The only reason their schedules work is because regional Captains ignore tons of crap in the book. Nobody wants to be the only guy following policy because places like Envoy will eventually target you. Never-the-less, they schedule they way they do because the pilots allow it.

The one thing I’ve noticed about my shop is that if it’s policy in the book, we do it, even if we’re late. We have a 1 hour show time, and the quickest turn I’ve seen scheduled ever was 45 minutes... and more than one leg a day is exceptionally rare. Normally it’s 1 to 1.5 hours to turn it.

Get out of the regionals at your first opportunity.
Atlas, Southern, Frontier, ABX. While you’re applying, either become a check airman, or an assistant chief pilot, or anything that will make your resume stand out. Then Network like hell.

Sage advice for someone with skeletons in the closet at Mesa, Skywest or the like. Not for Envoy though. All new hires vetted to AA standards and no one would leave AA for any of the outfits you mention.

It's very interesting to me that you think Envoy has higher standards than any other regionals, particularly because of a flow to AA.

Random question - what are those higher standards? You know, because they are "vetted to AA standards"? Additionally, what are those higher standards that Envoy hires by?

Don't feed the troll! Seriously though 85-90% of us here don't see ourselves any higher than any other RJ pilot out there. There are definitely a few (most of them are the "heavy drivers" but still even some of the 145 pilots) that seem to be the loudest and give us all a bad rep but nobody honestly believes that trash that THKooj is spewing. Over a year ago there were many CAs you'd fly with who were content on waiting for the flow. Fast forward to now and those same CAs are looking for the fastest exit to any and all of the above mentioned airlines. We know there's a hard line between us and mainline and that the flow could evaporate quicker than Kooj after being called out on his bs.

Well, in late 2019/early 2020 it was a maximum of 2 DUIs.

Can you elaborate on this please? I’m a regional captain, and fly the FOM without omitting anything from standards. Your post sounded wildly inaccurate to me about ignoring “tons of crap” in our FOM (it’s been re-named). Serious question, thanks.

Honest question, which standards are those? What differentiates them from other candidates that can get hired elsewhere. Because it wasn't too long ago that Envoy was snatching up every pilot they can get who got rejected from Skywest, Endeavor, Republic, etc.
