THKooj thank you for your honest opinion and answer. Please hold no hated for the rotor heads, what happened in Bagram, Kandahar or Baghdad can't be compared to a 19 yr old flying cessna in the US and claim they're very much experienced knowledgeable with regards to ADM. Either side of the coin has a value, please understand it that way.

Basically shortly after hiring ceased in 2020. I'm on record as not liking the program. I felt it gave way too much credit to some military rotor heads over highly qualified cadets. There were a few times when cadets had to wait for a spot to open and some military helo yahoo took up the space. I'm aware of training issues with these guys and after all that and getting online, they generally leave for some legacy if they can get themselves called. A silver lining to all this is that these guys shouldn't be back. At least through the RTP program.
But you are right about one thing. The company didn’t get the ROE it had hoped for with RTP. Only because EVERYONE else sees the value of the RTP aviators experience and was able to hire them away, leaving the inexperienced cadets behind.

Look, it’s looks like to me you’re passionate about who you work for. I get it, wether SKW is a first regional for you like ENY is a first regional for myself, we cannot ever forget that we are all pawns in the bigger chess game here. It seems to me you’re losing sight of that, you shouldn’t give a rats a** about who furloughed less or who can hire more. Who gets one base and who doesn’t. We are getting set up to go against each other. And while SKW may have the awesome 5000+ pilot group you have, just wait until the big three starts messing with your company and your pilot group, and the race to the bottom begins. Your company knows how to cost cut and when to be ruthless, just like ours does.
We stood up to the company to keep our rates that we fought hard for, as a cadet I would have understood too despite how frustrating that is. Additionally, you cannot blame the company for cost cutting either. It’s a fluid situation and it sucks having to watch my friends get furloughed. But again, this could possibly get bigger than “who furloughed who, my regional is better than yours” over the course of this year.

Yup!!!! This is spot on. Cool you are 5000+ pilots. If good old Chip and SKW mgmt one day comes in and says we NEED to lower pilots pay 12 dollars per hour effective immediately. That SKW pilots resource you call a union wont protect you.
It might not happen but it could.

Anyways we all got slapped by a mod for the back and forth yesterday, so just leave it be.
THKooj makes for better entertainment anyways.

As I stated, the likes of ALPA are just waiting for our management to pull a move like that and rally the pilot group. As long as they keep us happy, I’m fine with no Union.

I view them as a lost cause with ever signing cards and unionizing. I am sure that the pilots are indoctrinated with all sorts of “SkyWest is the best” stories and fed glorious legends of their dear leaders. You take a bunch of young cadets, feed them lies of how good the company is and how they will take care of you, and they’re bound to be loyal to you.

Man this is nasty!! I have flown for both Eagle and SkyWest. Dude it’s all the same!! Eagle alpa cramed a 16 year contract down our noses. Management closed bases, and alpa got bizex doh and pushed us all down the list.. OO management closed bases, displaced pilots, and cramed fly 70 seat flying, for 50 seat rates for 6 months down our noses. See it’s all the same. Don’t fall for the bait.. enjoy you life and maybe move on one day.. But then you will just get wrapped up in the “majors” problems...
