Hate to derail this thread away from the TC jealousy circle jerk y’all have going, but have y’all seen the Email to the furloughs that were LGA based?

Also since the company never gives info out... someone (not a crew member, but a hotel guest in a room right next door to an Envoy crew member) was shot and killed in the hotel in Montgomery AL. All we get is an HI6 about how we are moving hotels because of a security issue.

Facts matter. Nobody was killed. Nonetheless, the company should be much more forthright with the details.

why because just the flight attendants room butted up against the room where it happened? So it doesn’t matter to the rest of the crew?
why do we get HI6’s about someone who was unfortunate enough to work here for 30 years flying their last flight, and to come have cake and cookies. But when something actually serious happens... crickets |
Was it a nice hotel? Looks nice. Or was there a trend of shady stuff happening for a while? Stupid stuff can happen anywhere anytime, it’s the trends of shady that more concern me.

It's a nice hotel. So nice that everyone forgot that it's actually not a very good 'crew' hotel. No room microwave, no free breakfast, van scheduling issues, doors that somehow could not be closed without a loud slam noise heard by everyone on the floor... but all I ever heard was how nice the hotel is.
Personally I could care less about location. I want a good gym in the hotel, microwave, fridge in my room and a van that is on time. I however totally understand that I am just one person and my tastes and views don’t align with everyones. Some people would rather have a 30 min van ride to a better location. Overall though I feel like the general quality of our hotels has improved. |

Yeah I would have to agree with this. The trend over the last couple of years is to move us into nicer hotels, but we lose a lot of the benefits that really matter, like the ones above.

Okay all that is nice but location still does matter eapecialy for those of us that dont pack food for each trip or cant due to the hassle of commuting. LAW for example is a particularly terrible overnight for me since theres pretty much nothing around the hotel. I want hotels that are near some food options or maybe even a grocery store. Some of my favorites are CUU, TYR, and GRK and theres something for everyone. I hate the typical hotel by the highway with a gas station and nothing else we tend to stay at.

I due agree though that we are all different and we all have different priorities, so I am not judging even if it sounds that way. |

Agreed. Give me a room with a microwave, a fridge w/freezer, and a decent gym and I will be much happier than being in a classier hotel where I have to go down to the lobby to microwave my spaghetti O’s.

Im sure we can all agree hotels need to have an in room fridge and microwave. Whatever i do pack or even leftovers still need it I heard walmart has good deals on microwaves maybe we could direct these hotels on where to find some |

As far as your examples go? CUU, that's in Mexico. The fridge/microwave thing is kinda a moot point when traveling through TSA. But they do have an AWESOME free breakfast and I have no problems with the van. Gym kinda sucks but the location makes up for it (I end up doing a lot of walking anyway). TYR, no problems at all. Has all I want and in a good location. GRK? I've done a lot of turns there. I don't remember if I've ever overnighted. |

*hotels that seem most insistent on only having a microwave in the lobby have their own overpriced restaurant and place us as far away from the lobby as possible. Think about it. Flea bag hotel... flea bag *******s that are trying to make us pay more for our overnight is more like it. If you don't carry your own food you don't see it, I know. But it's real. |
you guys are extremely short sighted and i'm glad we're moving away from "bed bugs ok, just need microwave" type places. None of us make $19k/yr anymore. Let's stay at professional hotels.
Microwaves in the rooms are viewed as a major fire hazard/insurance bump in most states |

We stay at some LaQuinta’s that are honestly nicer than some of the FourPoints and DoubleTrees; more modern, well-kept, cleaner, and always with a microwave and a fridge. |

I'd rather be able to heat up my dinner while I'm changing out of uniform and unpacking my bag rather than doing that and THEN doing the long* travel to the lobby to heat up my food and then doing the long* travel back to my room to eat my now cold food due to the long* journey.

what LQ's would those be? Every single one has the same nasty carpet, same extremely cheap mattress, and same dirty bathroom in my experience.

Anyway, good luck on the hotel front. |
Wait what happened to LIT? Did we go back to our old dump?

That GRR overnight hotel is gross. The carpets feel, how should I say, moist all the time, yet are dry. Yuck. It is a very bizarre place, with the mattress's sitting with an upward curve to them lol. Looks like you are laying down on a giant U.
Anyway, good luck on the hotel front. |

For locations they also seem to be around a bunch of car dealerships. Is Envoy trying to tell me something? I dont drive a Hyundai |

I get the desire to have access to a microwave and mini fridge (plenty of business class hotels such as Hilton/Hyatt/Crowne Plaza/Marriott, etc., have fridges btw), but for those of us who didn’t go into this profession to eat four days of leftovers out of a cooler, it would be nice to stay in higher tier properties within striking distance of food and stuff to do. We get per diem for a reason. Do you think the road warriors that we traditionally fly would be jazzed about an LQ next to a Waffle House because “yay, I don’t have to walk 20 ft to nuke stuff?” Come on man. |

I think some of our worst overnights could be improved just by trading one Holiday Inn location for another closer to downtown or the local points of interest. |

Plus those that are into fitness are usually much better served bringing specific food for their goals. Regardless, I get we all have different tastes and motivations, I just find it hard to believe that some hotels don’t offer microwaves and fridges. |
