Even high end prepared food at nice restaurants is still horrible for you.

Plus those that are into fitness are usually much better served bringing specific food for their goals.

Regardless, I get we all have different tastes and motivations, I just find it hard to believe that some hotels don’t offer microwaves and fridges.

‘While I get what you are saying and this point is valid since I am big into meal prepping for similar reasons. I usually still take the higher end hotels in a better location. I don’t mind the trip to the lobby with the paper plate of food I brought (I even packed my own paper plates) to nuke. Usually those higher chained hotels have better gyms as well out of my experience. Residence Inn, Garden Inns and Hyatt Places (always have microwaves in the lobby areas) are usually my favorite with the higher lever full services ones being second provided if the location was good.

Sort of a tangent, but if you're by an REI, check out the Sea to Summit collapsible bowls in the camping section. Couple different sizes, microwavable, and they double as plates. The titanium sporks in the same section are handy too.

Slam clicking isnt my thing either so I appreciate our better overnights near stuff and hopefuly thats with a good crew. In my previous post I meant COU not CUU, but I agree that breakfast is realy good!

I think some of our worst overnights could be improved just by trading one Holiday Inn location for another closer to downtown or the local points of interest.

You meant COU? I ve got no problems there. I had a microwave in the room the times i was there and all the other things i like to have. They also do a good job taking care of crews.

It doesn't have to ne either/or.

Yeah COU! One letter changes things quite a bit haha! COU is definitely a favorite and it's got it all. Fridge/ microwave in room, AWESOME gym, great location near retail, food, mall, etc. and some parks too for a walk or run

I can't remember HSV so fair enough I guess.

We have a company pilot in HSV who owns a bar nearby. It was a reasonable Uber ride. We actually flew him home and he offered to take us if we wanted. Looks like a neat place. Hopefully someone else will remember the name.

I get the desire to have access to a microwave and mini fridge (plenty of business class hotels such as Hilton/Hyatt/Crowne Plaza/Marriott, etc., have fridges btw), but for those of us who didn’t go into this profession to eat four days of leftovers out of a cooler, it would be nice to stay in higher tier properties within striking distance of food and stuff to do. We get per diem for a reason. Do you think the road warriors that we traditionally fly would be jazzed about an LQ next to a Waffle House because “yay, I don’t have to walk 20 ft to nuke stuff?” Come on man.

Couldn't have said it better myself. All the dumpy hotels we stay at (EVV, LAW, TXK, etc) for a microwave in the room, and free packet of oatmeal from 6-9 am.

EVV is the best overnight in the system.

If you are in the market for a used car. No other hotel is close to so many car dealerships.

Are the days of company paid rotor transition days over?

Cyio 04-06-2021 10:48 AM

I think I see the disconnect. Some of the locations I have never been too, so perhaps the fleet you are on plays a part in the hotels. I can only think of a couple on the 175 that are horrible.

On the call yesterday I heard someone else got fired from posting shi+ on social media. I don’t understand why people keep going on fb pages to talk shi+ about the company. People need to start using apc more often. Just my 2 cents.

It wasn't about the company.

Care to elaborate? Was it about work or something unrelated. I don’t want to get **** canned for expressing my displeasure with traffic or taxes.

That one was 3ish years ago. He was a good guy, but made a very wrong comment. Or someone else made it on his behalf “Allegedly”

And yes, this was the case they mentioned on the call.

According to Twitter it wasn’t even two years ago. The fallout is still out there if you search for the right thing. Certainly wasn’t very good optics.

Speaking of TDY, I can’t get the RF form to submit. The form just resets when I hit return after Send. No “Done”.
I do the usual Home, reset, reset, tab.
What am I missing here.

Any idea if Envoy will honor CJOs when they start hiring?

Can’t say for sure, but they should. They will probably require an update of personal information, flight time, employment info, etc to make sure that there hasn’t been anything change that would other wise make you ineligible.

Still likely to be late summer early fall before the hiring wheels start turning again. Those that have been sitting will all pretty much need the full Monty in training so even at full speed that’s a two to three month delay of starting new classes.

pitchattitude 04-07-2021 06:55 PM

It is not wise to post the same thing to APC and FB...

That’s why I copy and paste other people’s apc posts onto Facebook...can’t be too careful.

And that is why I edited my post so as to not include who I was referring to. But if the shoe fits...

Posting the same or similar things to FB where you are identified and then to APC can possibly identify you to management. Never a good thing.

TC left on Monday to Atlas and is still getting paid by the union until the 16th. Can anyone explain this to me?

PU, and correction, it’s up until the 14th.

I’m not trying to stir any “rumor” but as a union member I’d like to have some clarification on this matter.

All of the officers are marked as PU. He might be burning vacation time which would not be coming from our dues dollars. Message the pilot hour address and ask what's up.

No ideas. But rather than throwing that out here, ask a rep, bring it up in one of the calls, etc. Any answer you get here usually isn’t worth the ether it is typed in. Dera, who is as good of source as there is, has posted some answers and you haven’t been happy with what he said so why keeping beating that dead horse here?

I really am trying to avoid that topic on the UA forum. Without arguing the merits / demerits of a quota, it’s important to note that the goal is just in place at United’s flight school, not the overall hiring picture. Scott’s comment on “training” (as in PPL, CPL, etc) was misquoted everywhere. Maybe at its best 500 total students per year will start at the school, a percentage will ultimately make it through the regionals and then on to United.

There are plenty of avenues for complaints and verification of the use of funds. Ask your Rep, ask the MEC, h3ll, call National and report abuse if you think there is corruption. The least useful thing you can do is spreading anonymous rumors on the internet.
