They need to announce recalls and get some 145 first officers. That way in July they can not zero out and junior man every day.

Yes I think this will be what we hear about. To be fair they should lay out a roadmap for recalling, fleet planning, and hiring. Especially with other regionals hiring, it just makes no sense that we’re dragging our heels.

It saddens me as to why ENY is still radio silent on anything with regards to recalls and hiring. What could it be.......? internal problems, training department backlog or maybe cash flow....
Hope something comes up so all those still waiting can have a plan🙏🙏🙏

The recalls are coming sooner than you think. Envoy cannot afford to behind the curve any more than they already are. I’m sure the flowplan will be out soon and they are already evaluating where they can slot furloughed pilots on at. The union said attrition is above average this month and the company knows this. They need bodies in seats or planes don’t go.

Behind the curve they are indeed, I’m not sure what they were waiting for exactly. Everyone’s gonna be working way too hard this summer if they don’t get the ball rolling soon.

buddies8 04-16-2021 07:05 AM

And that's the idea.

But seriously 04-16-2021 07:32 AM

To be honest, I don’t get the point of waiting to call them back. They are being paid anyway. You aren’t saving training costs, you are just differing them. I don’t think anyone realistically thinks that they are going to be furloughed again in Sept, so why keep them on the sidelines? The FO list is zeroed out basically every day (for OFE at least).

Acording to the DFW page the first batch of recalls went out this morning. Starting back on 5/3. It’s about time.

Does this mean QT is coming back?

I wouldn't expect a return of QT until we're so short on pilots that they're declaring critical coverage for full months at a time and they NEED us to pick up OT as much as possible. No inside knowledge or crystal ball even. Just a hunch.

Nature is healing. QT is not coming back yet though

They won’t ever give QT back, it would come with a price. Last year on an all call it was said that the company values it at $500k per month. So, all we have to do is come up with $6 million and we can get it back.

I wonder how many won’t come back, and how long it’s gonna take. 50 a month looks like 5 months to me right now.

Thanks, I had to pull out my TI84 from high school.
But in reality my point is 5 months just doesn’t make any sense, they’ll clearly have to step up the rate at some points also wonder how much attrition we will see. Time will tell I’m sure we figure out more next week.

I had pointed out that it was going to take some time to get these folks back. The training department is smaller. The company STILL doesn’t want to do this at a rate any faster than they have to and Envoy is always slow to react. They would much rather JM than hire a few more instructors.

Five months is only if they all come back. Based on the recall experience from PSA, the company probably isn’t expecting anywhere near 100% to come back.

BTW, congrats to all the recalls. Welcome back.

Spirit, Frontier, Atlas, FedEx, UPS to name a few. I know someone going to each of those, more than one in most cases.

Still nowhere near 140 PRIAs. That rumor is false.

I can’t speak to the rumor, I was just pointing out where people were going.

Yeah just wanted to squash that one, because it is not true.
We have around 15 resignations in April now so above average, but nowhere near the mudslide some suggest. And just like you say, they are all leaving for much, much better pastures.

That should give an idea what the people "in the know" feel about this place.

If Mgt don’t know how that how that works, they shouldn’t be management. It’s IS pretty simple.

I think I hid my shame in my beer mug :-)

I knew I was letting THBoob down as well as legions of mainline pilots who were all emotionally invested in my future

Shame, shame on you. On another note, this place is so much better with TheNutbag banned.

Pay more with also trip duty rigs and pump up company contribution to 401k to start with. As bonus they can open up sju and lax as domiciles to be added with the current ones. For starters.

Yeah, more domiciles for any carrier is unrealistic. And ANY improvements at the ‘Voy is also unrealistic. Just the management attitude could improve and get rid of Todd in scheduling and that would be completely “cost neutral”, but you won’t see that happening.

buddies8 04-18-2021 12:09 PM

I know, thats why I/we have nothing to lose shooting for the moon. Im still laughing that envoy mgt can do math when they came up with 500k per month cost to pilots to turn quick trade back on.
f them fly fast get there early but don't leave any earlier than 5 minutes from scheduled time. That's my 500k per month.

Block out and wait while you’re on the clock. I’ll gladly take my sweet time(unless it’s go home day) Starring at the clock waiting for D-5 to drop the brake is miserable

get on the clock THEN run check lists and finish up getting ready etc.. I wish more guys worked this way.

I remember someone telling me back in th mid nineties, working at a regional, they were trying for 6% pay increase and they were forced into a 3% increase only. He said you know 5 early and 10 late is 25%.
