I do not, nor have I ever worked at PSA.

And if you think that most pilots at any REAL airline even knows who Envoy or PSA are, or cares, you are sadly mistaken. One commuter airline is the same as the rest.

Those are the numbers that actually matter. The rest are just made up numbers by recruiters.
Actually, no they don't. Many a frustrated pilot have been hired by a company that currently had fast upgrades and couldn't understand what happened as they waited years and years to do so. Anyone hired by PSA in the last 6 months will likely get to know this feeling well.

When I was hired by Eagle, the upgrade had gone from two years to 6 years and growing. It had peaked at 10 years, 10 years to upgrade but it took me 6 1/2 years. It has currently gone from that to almost 8 years and the current junior Captain is a Oct 2007 hire. 220 upgrades next year will make it a late 2008 hire. After them it was a hiring gap so it will jump to a 2010 hire.

You may like to speculate that they will stop the flow but it is a contractual provision just like any other provision. You might as well say, "Don't go to RAH, they cannot afford to pay their $40 so your paycheck will bounce." "Don't go to SkyWest, they don't have a contract and they can do whatever they want"

But it is still speculation. It could be a 2 year upgrade, or a 12 year. It is just a guess. The only TRUE number is what upgrades are right now. There are simply too many variables to consider in making a guess.

The current upgrade time is a FACT. That is it.

Envoy could have an accident tomorrow that causes it to go out of business. Same is true of most any small company airline. The doors will close, AAG will spin off another company with a different name, and reset the pay of everyone involved to first year. Post REAL numbers, not what you hope is going to happen.

The FACT is the upgrade times at ALL regionals fluctuate. Getting aircraft, losing aircraft, guys being hired by other companies, guys flowing... it all changes in a fluid environment.

To deny that, shows the intent of posts are propaganda.

In that ever changing environment, only envoy can contractualy guarantee that its Captains will be taking 50% of AA new hire spots. How many Captains can Xjet guarantee will be hired by other companies in the coming years. Does Republic know how many of their Captain will get other jobs? No one can know. Its all speculation. But I can look at AA retirement schedule and tell you that half of those guys will be replaced by envoy Captains ensuring that the current upgrade will continue to drop.

50% of new hires for how long? When does it drop to 30something%? And what happens if Envoy has to start parking airplanes? Will they still flow pilots?

Contractually, if they furlough they MUST increase the flow. Parking aircraft is irrelevant, there is no language that allows them to withhold any more than flowing the minimums required.

Could they if they wanted to? Sure, but cue a big stack of grievances and probably a few lawsuits.

So let me get this straight...you are completely clueless as to how envoy's flow works yet continue to cast stones at it?

There are countless posts on APC that explain in detail how flow over here works. Go fetch.

It's all speculation which means little to a pilot hired at Envoy today, so don't be dazzled by the psychobabble of circus tent hucksters. As an example, AA may not even maintain its present size over the next 6 years so if X pilots retire at AA, that does NOT mean "half of those guys will be replaced by Envoy captains ensuring that the upgrade will continue to drop" in any quantifiable time frame when talking about Envoy flow or upgrade. If Envoy cannot lure in enough new-hires to match attrition, it too shrinks impacting upgrade schedule, so that is another variable that only is quantifiable as a present snapshot.

A more rewarding line at this circus is the one for cotton candy vs. the "step right up folks and win a stuffed toy" game you're hearing now. Envoy is a crap shoot, not a guaranteed payoff and THAT is the ONLY guarantee.

No its not, its contractual. Unless you think by some miracle of science and legislation, AA won't be retiring around 700 pilots a year for the next two decades. You being one of them.
